We are so thankful for the many volunteers who have given their time and compassion to help us run the Food Pantry. No matter what happens in the world, people still need to eat and we are so thankful that God can use all of us to feed those who need it most.
What’s one service you are thankful for whether you use it or someone else uses it?

Repost from

We have to get creative this season with capturing time together and staying connected to one another.

What’s one creative way you are planning to connect with a friend or family this weekend?

It’s been two weeks since San Francisco issued a shelter-in-place mandate. Since then we’ve seen organizations rise up and meet needs of people whose disenfranchisement is amplified due to this health crisis. At YWAM SF, we’re still running showers (of course, with intense sanitation modifications) and hosting the food pantry with no contact modifications. It’s a challenging time for so many and for many different reasons. Let’s continue to fight for thankfulness and intercede for those less privileged. We are in this together if we allow ourselves to be. And remember- stay home. @ YWAM San Francisco

To those of you who are finding creative ways to give back to your community, we see you. You’re not alone. 💚

Meet Steve Binnquist, the director of Restoration Initiatives at YWAM San Francisco & a member of our BJM community who is providing services to our friends experiencing homelessness in new (& socially-distanced) ways.

“For a community that’s already in stress & isolation, COVID-19 compounds that. This makes a vulnerable population even more vulnerable,” says Steve. “Disruptions in routines & increased uncertainty around resources like food & shelter add more weight to the stress & trauma of being unhoused.”

Looking for ways to stand in solidarity with our unhoused neighbors? YWAM is welcoming financial donations to keep programs running, as well as undergarments for men & women. The Ellis Room is also open on a limited basis for showers Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays from 9:30-12. 🚿 For more information on how to give back, see our response to COVID-19: https://bit.ly/bjmresponse.

The power of a shower.
Many of us, in light of covid-19, are able to stay home and take a warm shower. It’s not something we really have to think about, it is just part of our daily lives. We can be grateful for that. But for many of our friends, this is not the case. There is no “home” to return to and no warm shower ready to be used. As a response to this hygienic need, YWAM SF and will be operating our showers with limited staff. We are bleaching and disinfecting after each shower and taking suggested precautions to keep both ourselves and our friends free from sickness. .
As you’re sitting at home with netflix, homeschooling your kids, catching up on some reading, etc please remember us... in your prayers, especially. And please consider making a donation to the work we do, even at a time like this (link in profile). Thank you for your continued and thoughtful support. We love you and stay safe out there (or should we say “in” your home!)!
