JesusMobile Ministry

We were operating out of an old former paratransit bus we dubbed “The JesusMobile”. We began making sandwiches and mac-n-cheese and cocoa and would drive to areas we knew that the homeless would congregate at night. Eventually, we chose Tuesday & Saturday nights for outreach. r The Ferry building and with a Coleman stove, we would make hot cocoa and pasta with hot dogs. Doing our outreaches was more than just serving food to the homeless. It gave us the opportunity to meet new people and minister to them about The Gospel of Jesus Christ. Often times, Brendan and Greg would play the guitar and we would sing songs of worship to Jesus. Being out there with others on those nights was more than just that. People become homeless for different reasons. It was not our job to judge anyone or talk down to them with pity. We were out there because of our love for Jesus and for our fellow mankind. In a brief time, we saw our small ministry grow. We have had three youth groups from Washington more than once do outreach with us. During these times, we saw people give their lives to Christ. We saw some secure stable housing. But the main point is we never forgot those who society seems to throw to the wolves at times. Sometimes yes, someone would need a word of encouragement, Christian or otherwise. But sometimes someone just needs someone else to just listen to what they have to say. We at The JesusMobile Ministry are unlike other ministries who cater to the ones on the street-We lived it! Our motto is “The homeless serving the homeless to make disciples of Christ”.
