The Molecule That Holds Every Human Being Together Is Shaped Like a Cross (Laminin)
Laminin, a crucial protein in the extracellular matrix, binds cells to tissues and organs, literally holding the human body together as a key cell adhesion molecule. Electron microscope images often depict laminin in a cross-like configuration with four arms that connect to other proteins and cell surfaces.
