Last Saturday, May 4, the Ordination and Consecration of Bishop Coadjutor Austin Kieth Rios as 9th Bishop of the Diocese of California. Jean and Pamela Clare had good seats at the front in the handicap accessible area, at least until the photographers stood up right between us and the action. Here is one of my long distance shots of the mysterious circle of bishops at the consecration. More information and photos on Diocal.org. 50th Anniversary celebration: CSF arrived in the U.S. on March 27, 1974. Anniversary celebrations included a reunion with some surviving old friends (see photo--Sr. Jean, Suellen Thompson, Don Fox, Sr. Pamela Clare, Pam Cranston, Sr. Joyce, and Dominic George), a festive lunch at San Damiano with the SSF Brothers, and a fancy coffee hour hosted by CSF at Holy Innocents Church.

International SSF (First & Third Orders) Chapter just north of London in September. Pamela Clare and Thomas represented the Province of the Americas First Order. We had a field trip to a local mosque very involved in Interfaith affairs. We weren't told ahead of time, so most of the women didn't have head coverings. Here is our group picture with Pamela wearing her shirt on her head!

Religious Life Sunday was celebrated in the Episcopal Church last Sunday, Jan 22 (for the first time). Check out the website listed on the graphic and learn more about the various forms the Religious Life takes in the Episcopal Church -- traditional monastic orders, orders of friars and sisters, contemporary Christian communities both dispersed and residential, and also women and men with a vocation to the solitary religious life.

Sr. Pamela Clare back to work again! No massage with Care Through Touch (for homeless, poor and marginalized people) from March 2020 to June 2021. And since then, off again, on again, depending upon the Virus. However, things are really beginning to open up now and we can again be "in touch" with those suffering within the swollen ranks of the homeless, addicted, and mentally ill. Our Tenderloin neighborhood has made national headlines with the opioid overdoses and prominent tent encampments. So much work to be done here!
