⚖️ 1. Don’t judge hypocritically (Matthew 7:1–5)

“Do not judge, or you too will be judged.
For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged…
Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?”

Meaning:
Jesus isn’t saying, “Never make judgments.” He’s saying, don’t be hypocritical — don’t condemn others for things you’re guilty of yourself.
Before judging, examine your own heart.

⚖️ 2. Judge righteously, not by appearances (John 7:24)

“Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.”

Meaning:
Jesus tells us to discern correctly — to evaluate based on truth and righteousness, not surface impressions, rumors, or bias.

⚖️ 3. The spiritual person exercises judgment (1 Corinthians 2:15)

“The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments.”

Meaning:
Those led by the Holy Spirit are called to discern (judge rightly) between truth and error, good and evil.
This isn’t about condemning people — it’s about spiritual discernment.

⚖️ 4. Christians must judge within the church (1 Corinthians 5:12–13)

“What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside.”

Meaning:
Paul says Christians shouldn’t judge unbelievers (that’s God’s role),
but they should hold each other accountable for sin within the church family — again, with humility and love.

⚖️ 5. Judge with mercy (James 2:13)

“Judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment.”

Meaning:
Even when judging rightly, our tone and motive must reflect mercy and compassion, not harshness or pride.

⚖️ 6. Test everything (1 Thessalonians 5:21)

“Test everything; hold fast what is good.”

Meaning:
We’re expected to discern — to evaluate teachings, behavior, and spirits — using Scripture as the standard.
This is another kind of righteous judgment.
