The Finish work of Christ took place on the cross but the unfinished work of Christ begins at the empty tomb of Jesus on the first Easter.

Jesus did not say I am finished, He said IT IS FINISHED. The work of atonement was finished. The sacrifice for sins was finished. The plan of salvation was finished. Sin, death, hell and the grave were finished.

His work of Redemption is Unfinished
His work of Restoration is Unfinished
His work of Rapture is Unfinished
His work of Retribution is Unfinished
His work of Reclamation is Unfinished

Easter is the ultimate statement that even our worst sins, the things that have harmed other people the most, the things we feel the most regret over can be forgiven.

Somebody asked what is this world coming to?
I can tell you the answer. The world is coming back to Jesus. It was made by Him and for Him and the time is coming when God shall place all things under His feet. Then every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the father.

Text: Mark 16:1-8
He is risen! He is not here. There you will see him, Just as he told you.

The overwhelming emphasis of the New Testament is not on the birth of Jesus or the life of Jesus, BUT on DEATH of Jesus.

The Apostle Paul wrote half of the New Testament, and yet he didn’t mention the sermons Jesus preached or the miracles he did or the parables he taught or the friends that he made or the places that he went.

*️⃣ Paul focused primarily on the Death and Resurrection of Jesus.

*️⃣ He said, “ This one thing I do. . . I preach Christ crucified”

WHY❓

➡️ Because the Cross of Jesus is the most important point.

➡️ Every other person, other than Jesus, was born for a specific purpose of living.

➡️ But JESUS was born for the specific purpose of DYING.

Listen - Death didn’t end the work of Christ, death was the work of Christ.

So tomorrow I’m not going to spend a ton of time on how Jesus died, but rather on why Jesus died.

“Do not be afraid. I bring you good news....Today...a Savior has been born to you;” (Luke:2:10-11)

Hello Saints, as we approach Christmas, with another unknown and possibly difficult New Year looming ahead, maybe you are in need of some prophetic assurance today. Maybe you are waiting expectantly for the Lord to speak to you. God does speak today, and He can speak prophetically through the scriptures, through a mentor, through a song and maybe even through a sermon! Will you be sensitive to His voice?

God still speaks to His people, and often, like with the Shepards, He speaks in our daily routine. Too many times, we expect God to speak only at Conference, Seminars, and Church services. He certainly does speak in theses gatherings, but can we believe for God to also speak to us in our daily routine. He spoke to Moses while keeping sheep, to Gideon while threshing (Judges 6:11), and to Elisha while plowing (1 Kings 19:19).
He can speak to you too near a stove, a computer, a keyboard, an exercise machine or in any other place.

God waits to speak to you too and often does it in the midst of our daily activity. Are we listening?

This Christmas, expect God to speak to you through unexpected situations, in unexpected places, and unexpected times.

Are you ready to receive God’s prophetic word during the Season? Will you be sensitive to His voice? Let’s also not forget that the Word of God still remains the most reliable prophetic voice to man in our unstable world.

In conclusion: we have four specific names mentioned in (Isaiah 9:6). However on Sunday I want us to look at this name “Wonderful Counselor” because Jesus is wonderful.

1. He’s a Wonder Counselor because He knows everything?
2. He’s a Wonderful Counselor because He empathizes with me?
3. He’s a Wonderful Counselor because He cares deeply.

God bless Church, see you on Sunday. 🙏🏻

Hello Church: Our New Sunday Zoom Service’s will be at 10:30am.
Title: A New Day
Scripture: Lamentations 3:21-24
We wil continue the Book of Acts next week.

❓ Raise your hand if you been deeply trouble by God, that’s a hard one to admit.

☑️ But we’ve all been troubled by God.

☑️ Perhaps you’ve sensed that He was distant or didn’t seem to care about your life or troubles.

☑️ Maybe even today during the calamity of Covid-19, you feel like God must be against you.

☑️ As we’re all walking through a difficult season, perhaps where asking the question...

❓Where is God, when my life is such a struggle?

The book of Lamentations is Jeremiah’s series of Laments over the destruction of Jerusalem. He wrote the book after he had walked among the rubble of Jerusalem.

Jeremiah wraps up his lengthy section with heartbreaking words: “My soul has been rejected from peace; I have forgotten happiness. So I say, my strength has perished, and so has my hope from the Lord” (3:17-18).

Jeremiah understands the depth of the question: “Where is God when I’m struggling?”

But in Lamentations 3:21-24 Jeremiah exclaims: “This I recall to mind, therefore I have hope.”

Perhaps you notice that 3:21 and 24 both end with “hope” the use of “hope” in these two verses frame this passage. But please notice 3:24 adds the two phrase “In Him” this significant inclusion makes clear where the foundation of hope lies. How did Jeremiah survive a life ministry that seemed hopeless❓He understood the importance of hope in God.

DO YOU❓

Series: Lord over all
Title: I can’t believe it’s almost Christmas!

There are a couple of realities of Christmas that we need to understand - there is some bad news and there is some good news.

The bad news is, life gets messy! Sometimes our plans for a day get messed up and sometimes our plans for a lifetime get changed. The good news is, Jesus can fix messy! That is the reason He came in the first place, to get into the messiness of our lives, the pain, the sorrow, the might have beens and the should have beens . . . and He begins to work His miraculous power!

The other reality is Christmas gets messy. When you go back to the first Christmas, almost nothing went according to anyone’s plan, that is, except God. The good news is - Jesus can not only fix messy, He can use messy.

This Sunday . . . What do you do this Christmas if you find yourself with plans that have changed?

Luke:1:26-34 Mary and Joseph were a young couple, all they wanted to do was get married. They are in their engagement period and out of nowhere, God steps in . . . “Greetings, you are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”

God is speaking to you through your circumstances. I KNOW THAT I AM SPEAKING TO SOMEONE, WHOM GOD HAS BEEN TRYING TO GET YOUR ATTENTION THROUGH A CHANGE IN YOUR PLANS.

a. For some this will be the first Christmas without a dear love one.
b. For others of you, this is the first Christmas after a divorce or there is a separation going on.
c. Some of you are in a season in which you have lost your job, and there is a lot of uncertainty
d. Lots of us have gone through BIG DISAPPOINTMENTS this last YEAR, our PLANS got messed up BIG TIME!

See you This Sunday

Series: Jesus Lord over All
Title: Stranger Danger

In the Gospel of Mark, this happens constantly with Jesus. People were frequently confused over and mistaken about the identity of Jesus. They couldn’t seem to get a grasp on who He really was. Last week Pastor Reuben walked us through the texted where Jesus would stick His fingers in someone’s ears and spit on His hand and touch their tongue! A little strange right.

This coming Sunday 11/3 We see Jesus Lord over all demons. (Mark 5:1-20) Jesus and the disciples meet a demon possessed man who lived in a cemetery, ran around naked, and had superhuman strength. Eventually Jesus sets him free from the demons. Mark gives us such graphic detail of the misery of this man? It’s not to settle our curiosity about demons and the Devil. He wants us to see the utter hopelessness of this man’s condition apart from Jesus. No one could fix him. No one could rescue him. He couldn’t save himself. His only source of help is one man, the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ.

You are not a MISTAKE to fix or a PROBLEM to solve, but a person to LOVE.

You are not just a face in the crowd. You are not overlooked or under loved by God because of your handicap. You may not be perfect, but you valuable. Jesus says, “Your imperfections doesn’t define you and it doesn’t disgust Me. I want to be with you.” This assurance and grace may be small to us but monumental to Him. See you Sunday.

New Series: Symbols of Scripture - (James 1:22-27) The Word of God is like a mirror that reveals to us the very thoughts and intentions of our hearts (Heb. 4:12). It shows us our ugly, self-center attitudes. It exposes our pride. It confronts our contempt for others and lack of compassion. It hits our sinful anger rotten speech. It uncovers our deception, greed, and lust. But, if we just take a quick glance at the Word once in a rare while and rush out the door, without doing anything to address the problems that it reveals, it won’t do us any good. James gives us warnings about those who hear the Word without doing it.

Hearers — only of the Word take a quick glance but don’t do anything to FIX what they see.
Hearers — only of the Word FORGET what they heard.
Hearers — only end up DECEIVING themselves.

James lives up to all of when He says that the DOER of the Word that will be in what he does.

TO ASK GOD TO BLESS YOUR LIFE WHILE YOU DISOBEY HIS WORD IS CRAZY.

The Gospel of Mark 16 - Let’s just be clear: The Rock was not removed to let Jesus OUT, but to let YOU IN. The Empty Tomb is both EVIDENCE and an INVITATION. It’s evidence for His resurrection, and it’s invitation to believe in Him. Do you belong to Jesus? Have you surrendered your life to His Lordship, to His guidance, to His control, to His ownership and Kingship? Mark makes it abundantly clear: Jesus is not a good way to heaven or a better way to heaven. He is not even the best way to heaven. He is the ONLY way to heaven.

Series: The Church at Impact. The great Christian writer, A. W. Tozer, said this: If the Holy Spirit were withdrawn from the church today, 95 percent of what we do would go on and no one would know the difference. If the Holy Spirit had been withdrawn from the New Testament church, 95 percent of what they did would stop, and everybody would know the difference.

Wow. Unfortunately, I think he makes a good point. In the New Testament, you see people being healed, you see violent Jesus haters turning into Jesus followers, you see people courageously stepping out of there comfort zones, you see people praying these crazy, bold prayers, and you see those prayers being answered in crazy ways. Even now, historians scratch their heads and try to make sense of how this tiny movement caught fire and swept across the Roman Empire. Because it did! This happened. And it’s just hard to explain that without the Holy Spirit.

Why do you think that is? Maybe the concept of “spirit” is harder to get our hands around. Maybe it’s because we’re from Los Angeles. So we are skeptical and street smart. We’ve seen enough phony healing crusades, and ridiculous televangelist showcasing the the Holy Spirit as “it” rather than “He”. . . . I’ll let you sit and think about that one. And, we associate that stuff with the Holy Spirit.

So, whatever the reason, we keep our distance, and we wind up with faith that’s safe, and controllable. It doesn’t move us. It doesn’t inspire us to sacrifice and dare great things. IT’S JUST CHURCH. And the reason we chose to do this series is because we’re just not satisfied with that kind of faith. At least I’m not. So I want to invite you to join me as we take a fresh look at Scripture, and as we open up our hearts and minds this Sunday. The Church at Impact.

[ Joseph’s Faith ] If not for Joseph, Christmas as we know it may have faltered and been destroyed before it ever got off the ground. I am not sure about Joseph and his life before being introduced to us in the Bible, but he had to be a mighty man of faith. I dare to say Joseph had proven himself over and over to God, and was deemed faithful and capable to the task of protecting the very son of God. Many good men would have wilted under pressure but not Josheph. He stood boldly and brightly in the face of doom and despair; he was faithful. 2025 Fourth St. San Fernando, Ca. 91340 Service Time 10:30am Sunday
