There was a time in my life when I was blind, paralyzed, and in a coma. For four months I lay in a hospital bed unable to move my legs. My body would not function on its own, and yet I felt no pain. I was numb.
As I lay there, surrounded by people who were suffering, I prayed for them. Even in my weakness, God showed me that love still had a purpose. Through His grace and mercy, He healed me. What doctors could not fully explain, God accomplished in His perfect way and in His perfect time.
Today, I find myself facing another physical challenge. This time I am not numb. I live with pain every day. Like many of you, I pray daily for healing and trust that God is working, even when I cannot see the outcome.
Over the years, I have come to understand something important: physicians are instruments of healing, but God is the ultimate Healer. We need doctors, and I am grateful for them, but every healing ultimately flows from the hand of God.
If you are struggling with illness, pain, or physical limitations, do not give up on God. Sometimes healing comes quickly. Sometimes it comes after a long season of waiting. And sometimes God uses our suffering for a purpose greater than we can understand.
I believe that no pain is ever wasted in God's hands. Even our suffering can become a source of love, compassion, encouragement, and hope for others. Sometimes the very thing we wish would leave us becomes the thing God uses to draw people closer together.
So keep praying. Keep trusting. Keep believing.
Whether God heals you today, tomorrow, or in ways you cannot yet see, He has not forgotten you. Your life has purpose. Your pain has meaning. And God's love is working through every part of your journey.
Has God ever carried you through a difficult illness or times of suffering? I'd love to hear your testimony in the comments.
"But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord."
