Known as the "Man with the Golden Arm," James Harrison from Australia survived a life-saving transfusion at 14. When he grew up, he decided to give back by donating blood regularly. Later, doctors discovered that his blood contained a rare antibody that could help save newborn babies. Before passing away in 2025, he had donated blood more than 1,100 times and helped save over 2.4 million babies. Today is World Blood Donor Day.
