We also believe that we are living in a very important time in the history of our world. The darkness in the world presents a great opportunity for Jesus’ light to shine even brighter. The church is the radiating, reflecting, shining, luminous light of Jesus. There is something reassuring about light shining in dark places, it brings hope & life.

❤️🏙️ I LOVE MY CITY

Today, we traded our usual Sunday gathering for sidewalks, conversations, care bags, prayer, and simple acts of love.

We believe following Jesus isn’t just about gathering in a room—it’s about bringing His love into our neighborhoods, streets, and everyday spaces. Today was a reminder that small acts of kindness can carry extraordinary hope.

Thank you to every person who served, prayed, walked, encouraged, packed bags, shared meals, and showed up. Together, we’re becoming the kind of people who love God and love our city well.

San Diego, we’re for you. 🤝

On Sunday, Gina led us in such a beautiful Mother’s Day conversation around Romans 16:13 — “Greet Rufus… and his mother, who has been a mother to me, too.”

It was a reminder that mothering is not only biological. It is spiritual. It is formational. It is the love of Christ expressed through nurture, prayer, wisdom, encouragement, correction, and care.

We honored mothers, spiritual mothers, and the women who have helped shape our faith in every season.

Today, we’re carrying three invitations with us:

Honor someone.
Receive care.
Become that person.

What a beautiful Sunday at Common(s). 🤍

We worshiped, prayed, shared stories, celebrated moms and mother figures, and made space to honor the women who nurture, encourage, lead, and love so faithfully. 🌸

From the flower bar to the conversations in the room, we were reminded that family in the Kingdom is a gift — and God forms us through the people who show up with love.

Happy Mother’s Day to every mom, spiritual mom, mentor, auntie, sister, and mother figure in our community. We love you and thank God for you. 💐
