You don’t have to look too far to find bad news these days—there’s a lot going wrong in our world. But that doesn’t have to be the whole story. This Easter, we’re celebrating the truth that love is stronger than fear, that hope outlasts despair, and that no matter how heavy things feel, good news is alive in the world.

Yesterday, nearly 400,000 San Diegans woke up without the food assistance they rely on each month from SNAP/CalFresh. We may not be able to solve the whole big problem, but today, we solved 208 little problems by packing meal kits for ’s Meals Made Easy program during communion.

This Sunday, we’ll be celebrating Día de los Mu***os — honoring those who have gone before us and those who are living and in need of our care.

During the service, we’ll come together to create meal kits for Feed San Diego, helping local families in need. You’re also invited to bring:
🕯️ A photo or memento to place on our Ofrenda
🥫 Non-perishable food items for our San Diego Food Bank Drive

✨ All are welcome at Kensington Community Church — join us for this meaningful morning of remembrance, community, and service.

The San Diego Food Bank most needed food items are: Canned Chicken & Tuna - Dry & Canned Beans - Cereal - Rice - Nuts & Seeds - Peanut Butter - Canned Soup - Canned & Dried Fruit - Canned Vegetables - Powdered Milk & Infant Formula.

Welcome to the season of Lent! This series is an invitation to navigate the polarities in our lives with more faith, intention, and openness to be transformed.

Each weekly sub-theme explores two supposed binaries, like “faith & works” or “rest & growth” or “grief & hope.” We often consider these ideas to be opposing. However, as we explore these concepts within the scriptures, we find nuance and complexity. We might begin to see a full spectrum instead of black and white. We might find that God is present in between.

And so, this season, we invite you to look beyond black and white binaries and easy answers. We encourage you to notice the dichotomies that define our lives; but also imagine where God might be meeting us beyond the categories we create.

This Lent, we're trusting that God shows up in shades of gray, rainbow hues, and everywhere in between.

No matter who you are or where you are on life's journey, YOU are welcome here on Sundays for our 8:30 am or 10:30 am services to navigate meeting God in the 'Everything [in] Between!"

You can start your day with Ashes to Go on the front lawn of KCC from 7:30 - 9:30 AM, or join us in the evening for a partnership service at University City United Church at 6:30 PM.

However you choose to receive your ashes, may this be a moment to step fully into the season with purpose and grace.
