Father Matt was born and raised in Brawley, CA, but moved to San Diego in 2009. His faith truly became alive at a Steubenville Conference in 2014, where he fell deeply in love with Christ and His Church. After graduating with a degree in Kinesiology, he entered the seminary and was ordained a priest for the Diocese of San Diego in 2023. He currently serves as Associate Pastor at Our Lady of Mount Carmel (Rancho Peñasquitos) and as Chaplain at Cathedral Catholic High School. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, road trips, and quality time with family and friends.

Hello everyone! My name is Jazmyn Cabrera and I am so excited for this year’s retreat! I attend St Patrick’s Carlsbad and Mission San Luis Rey. I’ve been serving in various ministries throughout my life, but my favorite has been through music ministry. My favorite Saints are St Mother Teresa and St Anthony of Padua. I love beach walks, cooking, and watching true crime documentaries! I’m very excited to be part of the team for this years retreat!🤍

Hey everyone, I’m Alex Agpaoa! I’m a San Diego native and my home parish is Mission San Diego de Alcala. When I’m not crunching numbers as an accountant, you can catch me attending bible studies and volunteering with the Young Catholic Professionals. On the side I enjoy watching sports, playing guitar, and spending time with loved ones. The young adult retreat was one of my first events I attended in the young adult community and has been one of my best experiences thus far. I’m looking forward to serving as a retreat leader this year and helping others grow in their faith!

Hi! I am Kierstin and I serve at St. Gabriel in Poway. I became Catholic in 2017 and have been on an adventure with Jesus ever since. I love to study Scripture, hike, look at the stars, find cool shells and rocks, and go on tangents about cool things. This was the first retreat I ever went on right after I was baptized and it was such a gift to me. I am very excited to return to the mountain again and encounter God with each of you!

We’re Erik and Lily Quiros 👋🏼Our parish is St. Michael’s in Poway. We’ve been married for 10 years with 4 awesome children. We’ve both served in many ministries over the years including youth, confirmation, music, and retreats. We’ve mentored engaged couples in the Witness to Love program and helped organize the Million Meals food packaging event. Aside from service we enjoy weightlifting, basketball, board games, and cooking for friends and family. We’re excited to serve together on this retreat and look forward to journeying with you all.
