We are blessed to continue to partner with the Faith-Based Mental Health Academy to train parishioners in mental health and develop our mental health ministries in Spanish in North County. St. Mary Star of the Sea, St. Mary Escondido, Mission San Luis Rey, and Resurrection were all represented at a recent collaborative luncheon hosted by Interfaith.

This week, we concluded our Mental Health Ministry 101 series. Parishioners from all across the diocese, representing every deanery, joined us to learn more about Mental Health Ministry and to be trained in Psychological First Aid. We were grateful to partner with Dr. Wendell Callahan and the Association for Catholic Mental Health Ministers to pilot their first Basic Mental Health Literacy training. We look forward to partnering with parishes and schools to help them strengthen their pastoral care and outreach towards those struggling with anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns. Earlier this week, our Associate Director Janelle Peregoy joined Orange County Catholic radio to promote this summer's Life-Giving Wounds Retreat.

Life-Giving Wounds is a Catholic, peer-led ministry that provides spiritual healing and community for adults (18+) whose parents have divorced. It helps participants process their hidden grief, transform their pain through Christ, and find deeper self-understanding, hope, and meaningful relationships.
