At St. Andrew’s by the Sea, we’ve been prayerfully asking:

How might God call us to be a more faithful presence in this community, not only on Sunday mornings, but throughout the week?

As part of this season of discernment, and our Year of Evangelism, we want to share a small but meaningful update. For some time, we have made our space available for shared use, though it has not been widely visible. Recently, we placed a sign on our campus to simply make that invitation more known.

This step is not a shift in who we are, but a continuation of our commitment to hospitality and stewardship. In the Episcopal tradition, we trust that God works through openness, through welcoming others, creating space, and allowing ministry to grow in ways we may not fully see yet.

As we explore this possibility, we would be working in close collaboration with our Diocese and Vestry to thoughtfully discern any potential partnership and ensure it is a good fit for our community and shared mission.

We believe our campus can be a place where prayer is offered more often, where the Gospel is shared more widely, and where community is nurtured throughout the week.

We remain the same St. Andrew’s community, grounded in worship, fellowship, and service. This is simply an invitation, to extend welcome to others who may be seeking a place to gather and grow in faith.

We invite your prayers as we continue to listen for the Spirit’s leading, and we look forward to sharing more as opportunities unfold.

Grace and peace,
St. Andrew’s by the Sea Episcopal Church

“The good news is alive in the world. Do not be afraid. Go back to Galilee. Go back to Galilee where it all started. Go back to Galilee and celebrate like we did at the beginning when we were not afraid, when these words of liberation had not yet drawn the trappings of imperial ex*****on.

Here in this artwork, the crowd is celebrating. Figures are dancing and dancing and dancing. Doves fly among the dancers, breaking borders, Holy Spirit. This throng is in the vacant space of the empty cross.… Around the dancing figures in Galilee, patterns of doves disperse outward. The good news, the euaggelion, is alive in the world.”

When we backed Jesus into a corner,
he loved and loved and loved again.
In this war-torn world,
we could do the same.
We could ground the bomber planes,
empty the gun cartridges,
unclench our fists, soften our jaws.
They say it can’t be done,
but don’t believe them.
In this war-torn world, we could try—
love and love and love again.
