John 6:56 - He who eats of My flesh and drinks of My blood dwells in Me, and I in him.

Hid Away in Jesus

We are to live and dwell in the Holy Spirit, Who leads us and guides us into all the ways of God. Our lives are now hidden away in Christ Jesus, and for us to live is Christ. As God hid Moses away in the cleft of the rock, even so, He hides our lives away in Jesus. Jesus said that the work which He did was by the Father, and now we have the same union. The work we do is by the work of Christ Jesus Who works in us (John 10:38, 15:5; Philippians 1:11; Colossians 1:29; 1 Corinthians 15:10; Hebrews 13:21).

Christ Jesus is the power source for all God's righteousness and His holiness working within our lives. We yield ourselves to Him as those alive from the dead. We yield ourselves as servants of righteousness, and He brings everything about our lives into perfect conformity to the will of the Father. (Romans 6:19-22). We bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ by the power of God (2 Corinthians 10:4-5). We keep ourselves in the keeping work of Christ Jesus (1 John 5:18; 1 Peter 1:5). We can now boldly say that as He is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:16-17). And we are able to overcome just as He overcame because He dwells in us (1 John 4:4; Revelation 3:21).

Daily Bread - May 13, 2026 (The Fourth Day - Genesis 1:14-19)

1 Corinthians 3:11 - For no other foundation can be laid other than the One in place, which is Christ Jesus.

The Foundation - The Life of Christ Jesus

We must understand that the life of Christ is the foundation set into place by God. The foundation encompasses all the Father wills for us to be and to do in Christ. The life of Christ is the heavenly pattern and model that pleases the Father and represents the redeemed and consecrated life. Even more important than the First Covenant, we should beware and take heed we do not alter the pattern of the Son we are commanded to follow (Isaiah 28:16-17; Mark 8:34; John 10:27; 1 Peter 2:21; Exodus 25:9,40; Hebrews 8:5).

Those who are on this foundation will conform to the image of the Son and turn away from wickedness to live the life modeled for us by Christ Jesus (Romans 8:29; 2 Timothy 2:19; Hebrews 6:1). The foundation consists of being born of God, being made sons of God, being made one with Christ Jesus, no longer living our life but the life of Christ, walking in the Spirit, being made the righteousness of God, being baptized in the Spirit, doing His work and even greater works, being the representatives of Christ Jesus in the Earth, accepting the same inheritance, and living out our lives as the living Epistles of Christ (John 1:12-13, 3:3,5, 14:12, 17:21-23; Mark 16:17; and 1 John 3:9,24, 4:4,7, 5:1,4,18; 1 Peter 1:23; Romans 8:14; Galatians 2:20, 4:6, 5:16; Colossians 1:28; and 2 Corinthians 3:3, 5:17; 1 Corinthians 1:30, 8:6; Ephesians 2:5,6).

1 Corinthians 3:11 - For no other foundation can be laid other than the one in place, which is Christ Jesus.

Building Properly Upon The True Foundation

We are supplied with evidences as to whether or not we are on the foundation of Christ Jesus and not on the changing opinions of man that are as earth and sand without foundation, always shifting about being totally unstable (Luke 6:47-49, 16:13; Matthew 7:24-27, 6:24; James 1:6-8; 1 Kings 18:21). We come to realize it is not just in the hearing or the believing of the Gospel, but the doing of it (James 1:22, 2:19; Matthew 7:21,24, 12:50; Luke 6:46). The life of Jesus was imparted to us when we were created anew in Him so we could live out the life that lasts forever - the life of the Son (1 John 5:12; 1 Corinthians 1:30; Ephesians 4:24; John 10:10).

Jesus is not only the foundation, but also the One Who builds the temple of the Lord (Zechariah 6:12). Upon the foundation of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit builds a spiritual house after the pattern of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. If we are going to build properly upon the foundation, then we must recognize we are to build the things that will cause those who hear us to grow into the maturity of Christ Jesus (Hebrews 6:1; Ephesians 2:22, 4:12-13). The Church, unlike a natural building, grows instead of being built. As those in the Church conform to the foundation of Christ Jesus, the Lord Jesus Himself and the Holy Spirit cause a sanctuary to grow that is filled with the fullness of God (Ephesians 1:23, 2:22; Matthew 16:18).

Daily Bread - May 11, 2026 (The Second Day - Genesis 1:6-8)

1 Corinthians 3:1-3 - And I could not speak to you, brethren, as unto spiritual ones, but as those merely human, even as babes in Christ. I gave you milk to drink, and not meat, for you were not yet able, but still now you are not able. For you are still merely human. For as long as there is jealousy, strife, and division, are you not merely human and walking like a man?

Unfortunately, there were those in the Church of Corinth who were unwilling to leave the actions of the spirit of disobedience and of the nature of the world behind, and were bringing their evil practices into the community of the Church. The fact is, Paul made it very clear that those who participate in this ungodly behavior of strife and dissension have no inheritance with Christ and in the Kingdom of God (Galatians 5:19-21; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Ephesians 5:4-7; Romans 1:29-32; Mark 7:22-23). There were those in Corinth who were new born babes in Christ and somehow were not grasping their need to move beyond the influences and behaviors belonging to the spirit of the world. They failed to realize such behavior not only jeopardized their soul, but also was such an offence to the community of the Church that Paul commanded such a one not be associated with at all (1 Corinthians 5:11; Ephesians 5:4-7).

One of the important things to realize is that many Greek words are loaded with meaning beyond what a single English word kind provide. Therefore, in an attempt to grasp the behavior that Paul is addressing we have used all the English words that these biblical Greek words represent. If one makes a short list of these community offences contrary to the nature of Christ and a reproach to the community of the Church, we would count up about fifty-two of them: 1- gossip; 2 - whispering; 3 - evil speaking; 4 - malice; 5 - ill will; 6 - hatefulness; 7 - deceit; 8 - guile; 9 - distorting the truth/fraud/ 10 - envy; 11 - insincerity; 12- insolent; 13 - haughty; 14 - boastful (alazon)- boaster/show-off/; 15 - conceit/ conceited; 16 - bitterness; 17 - rage/ boiling/ hot tempered; 18 - anger; 19 - wrangling; 20 - filthy talk; 21 - morbid craving for controversy; 22 - disputes; 23 - quarreling; 24 - dissension; 24 - discord; 26 - debate; 27 - disunity; 28 - division; 29 - suspicion; 30 - conceited; 31- enmities; 32 - conflict; 33 - hatred; 34 - animosity; 35 - feuds; 36 - hostilities; 37 -antagonism; 38 - strife; 39 - debate; 40- rivalries; 41 - contention; 42 - conflict; 43 - arguments; 44 - insults; 45 - jealousy; 46 - factions; 47 - sect; 48 - party; 49 - opinions; 50 - selfishness; 51 - contentiousness; 52 - slander.

Someone may say, “How can I possibly keep up with all of these offenses?” The answer is simply, “Walk in love, even as Christ Jesus has loved, us let us also love one another.” (Ephesians 5:1-2; 1 John 3:11, 4:7-11; John 13:35, 15:12)

John 15:16 - You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you. And I appointed you that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain - so that whatever you ask the Father in My Name, He will give it to you.

Expect God's Miracle Answers

It is a wonderful thing to understand and accept how God has chosen and appointed us to such a relationship that whatever we ask, He will do. Jesus made it very clear that whatever we ask the Father in His Name, it will be given to us (John 14:13,14, 15:7, 16:23,24; Matthew 18:19, 21:22; Mark 11:24; Luke 11:10; James 1:6; 1 John 3:22, 5:14,15). In saying this, Jesus opened the door for all of us to live everyday in the miracle realm of God.

Every promise of God will come to us by a miracle work of God. Miracles are simply God at work. A miracle takes place when God reaches in with His hand to do those impossible things we have asked Him to do. When miracles take place, we stand back and watch as God intervenes to bless us and make impossible things work. However, we must realize the miracle of the Red Sea would have never taken place if Israel had not been willing to step out in faith and walk into that difficult situation. The impossible place became the opportunity for God to show forth His mighty power and love for His people.

Just as it was for Israel, it will also take the intervention of God if we are to have the things God has appointed us to. Will you begin to ask God for His promises to be fully realized in your life? Will you allow Him to take you to the places of impossibility so you can come to know that your Friend will not let you down? God wants to teach us that we can trust Him - and that not one of His promises will fail us! (Romans 4:16-17; James 2:23; Matthew 17:20, 19:26, 10:29-31; Luke 1:37; 2 Corinthians 1:20)

Jesus Is Our Life

We can now boldly say as He is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:16-17). And we are able to overcome just as He overcame because He dwells in us (1 John 4:4; Revelation 3:21).

Jesus is the fountainhead and well spring of the life of God and the rivers of the Holy Spirit which issue forth from our lives. Our bodies are the dwelling place of God, and so they are called the temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 3:16; 2 Corinthians 6:16-17). All we must do is imitate Christ and follow His leadership (Ephesians 5:1; Matthew 16:24). Christ Jesus is our life and for us to live is Christ. We dwell in Him and are hidden away in Him (Galatians 2:20; Philippians 1:21; John 14:20,15:4; Colossians 3:3). When Christ Jesus, Who is our life, appears we also appear with Him in glory, we are both in Him and with Him (Colossians 3:1-4). He is our life and our glory, and without Him, we can do nothing. Yet, by Him, we can do all things through Christ Jesus Who strengthens us (John 5:19, 30, 15:1-7; Philippians 4:13). In this glorious life of the Spirit, we can now live and dwell in God's love, and by dwelling in His love, we have the witness that we dwell in God and God dwells in us. As we yield ourselves to Him, His life flows out of us like rivers of living water (1 John 4:15-16; Colossians 1:27; 1 John 3:24; John 7:38-39).

John 6:56 - He who eats of My flesh and drinks of My blood dwells in Me, and I in him.

Mutual Indwelling With Jesus

Jesus said, come and dwell in me (John 15:4). God has done a wonderful thing for us through Christ Jesus - He has come to dwell in us! He not only dwells in us, but we also dwell in Him. Now, Christ Jesus presents us to the Father with His righteousness and His holiness. In fact, the whole of our lives and existence is found in Him. We are not only presented to the Father in Him, but He also now dwells in us and His righteousness and Holiness flows out of us as we yield to Him. Just as Christ Jesus dwells in the Father and the Father dwells in Him, He dwells in us and we dwell in Him (John 14:20,23, 17:22-23). He likens this mutual indwelling to a branch dwelling in a vine. As the branch draws its life from the vine, even so, we draw our life from Christ Jesus. We cannot do anything without Him, but if we continue to dwell in Him, we bring forth the fruits of His life (John 15:1-8).

Jesus made this mutual indwelling possible through the sacrifice of Himself for our sins. Through the giving of His Own life on the cross, He destroyed the power of sin and death, and cleansed us with His Own blood. He purified us from all iniquity and gave us a new life in Himself (Titus 2:14). The invitation now exists for all to come and dwell in Him (John 15:4). He offered up His life to make this possible. He gave His body and His blood so we might live by Him. As the Bread of Life, His body became our spiritual food. His blood was given to us as a spiritual drink so His life might dwell in us. The communion each person may have results in a mutual indwelling with Jesus (John 6:56, 14:20,23, 15:1-7, 17:21-23; 1 John 3:24, 4:15-16; Ephesians 5:30; 1 Corinthians 12:27).

The very moment we are born again, we are given His life, His righteousness, His holiness, and His relationship with the Father. The life of Jesus becomes our life, and we find ourselves complete in Him (Colossians 2:11-12). Just as Jesus lived His life in the Father and the Father dwelled in Him, He dwells in us and we are to live our lives in Him (John 14:17-23, 17:23). Our bodies are made His holy dwelling place and the members of Christ (1 John 3:24; 1 Corinthians 3:16, 12:27). He has held nothing back from us of His life and called us to be conformed to His image (Romans 8:29; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Colossians 3:10). He has given us all of His fullness, and now by dwelling in His love, we mature and are filled with all the fullness of God (John 1:16; Ephesians 3:19-20). As we live our lives in Him, we grow up into Him in all things (Ephesians 4:15). Once again, we do not have to present ourselves before God on the basis of who we are. Rather, we are presented before God in Christ Jesus (Colossians 1:22, 28; 1 Corinthians 1:30, 6:11). We do not come to the Father to be accepted on the basis of what we have done, but what Christ Jesus has done for us. Our response to all He has done is to present our bodies holy and acceptable to God as His dwelling place (Romans 12:1). We are to yield our members to Him as the servants of righteousness (Romans 6:16-22).

Blessings,

Pastor Mark Spitsbergen

Daily Bread - May 6, 2026 (The Fourth Day - Genesis 1:14-19)

1 John 3:22 - And whatever we ask of Him, we receive, because we keep His commands and do what is pleasing in His sight.

Fellowship With God Is The Key

God wants us to accept all He has done for us in Christ Jesus, and be continually filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5:15-20). If we are willing to be continually filled, then we will find a continual manifestation of the glory of His presence in our lives, and through His glory, we discover union with God (John 17:22). In this union with God, we find an active divine power and grace of God enabling us to walk in the Light as He is in the Light (1 John 1:6-7). We find ourselves at rest in His love, and empowered to be just as He in this world (1 John 4:17; John 17:16-23). We discover our life is not our own, but it is the possession of Christ Jesus, and in this revelation there is no condemnation (1 John 1:7, 4:17; 1 Corinthians 6:19; Galatians 2:20; Colossians 3:1-3).

Here in this place of fellowship and union with God is where we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight. We can be certain that asking Father and receiving our request is central to what God desires for our lives (John 14:12-14, 15:7-16, 16:23-27). Jesus said He had called us and ordained us to bring forth fruit, and that our fruit should remain, "so that whatever you ask the Father in My Name, He will give it to you." (John 15:16). Yet, equally important, we must also remember that we can do nothing without Him. We must recognize our lives were consecrated by His blood and by the Holy Spirit to dwell in Christ Jesus (John 15:5).

If we are willing to accept all God has done for us, and agree with His Word even in the face of the multitude of assailing thoughts and circumstances, we will walk in the faith that overcomes the world (1 John 5:4, 3:23, 5:18-21). If we will come to rely upon the Holy Spirit, and allow Him to continually fill us, then we will continue to walk in His Word and do the things pleasing in His sight. If we fail and sin, all we have to do is immediately turn to Jesus and take His blood for our cleansing. Then, ask the Holy Spirit to fill us and strengthen us to always do only things pleasing to the Father - and He will!

Blessings,

Pastor Mark Spitsbergen
