HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!

Good and gracious God,
We thank you for our mothers.

May we be grateful for their love and sacrifice, forgiving for their imperfections, and tender in our love for them.

We pray for those awaiting the birth of a child, for those longing to have a child, and those who have lost a child.

May all find love and comfort in the care of Your Mother,
given to us as Mother for us all.

The Diocese shared this today!

Annual Auxiliary Bishop Felipe Pulido had heavenly assistance with his homily at the annual Missionary Childhood Association (MCA) Mass.

It was held March 25 at Our Mother of Confidence Church in University City. Almost 420 people attended, including nearly 285 Catholic school students.

At the annual Missionary Childhood Association (MCA) Mass on March 25, five canonized “saints” shared their personal stories, including St. Rose of Lima, St. Francis Xavier, St. Therese of Lisieux, St. Lorenzo Ruiz and St. Francis of Assisi.

What is Wednesdays at OMC?

Father Steven has a vision of having Wednesdays be a day of gathering together to share a meal, to build community, and to learn and grow in our faith together. To that end, we have been hosting Wednesdays at OMC. On three Wednesdays a month we have a delicious meal together and then either watch a video or have a live speaker. There is no charge for these events, although we do accept donations toward the cost of the meal.

All are welcome – bring a friend!

In the 1930s, Jesus chose a humble Polish nun, St. Maria Faustina Kowalska, to receive private revelations concerning His Divine Mercy that were recorded in her Diary. St. Faustina’s Diary records 14 occasions when Jesus requested that a Feast of Mercy be observed. On May 5, 2000, five days after the canonization of St. Faustina, the Vatican decreed that the Second Sunday of Easter would henceforth be known as the Sunday of Divine Mercy.
