For me, farewells are always tinged with sadness, but are also opportunities to recall what awesome things our Father has done. Over the past four years, Michael has wonderfully served our church family with faithfulness, intentionality, care, and musical gifts. We thank the Lord for the time we've had with Michael and his family as part of our worshiping community.

As Pastor Patrick King explained, “He is a friend, gifted musician and worship leader who has pointed us to the Gospel of Jesus Christ”.

We pray that God will direct and bless Michael and his family as he transitions into a new season. There will be smiles on our faces when we get to see Michael and his family again.

When you , you’re helping cover the last mile of missions in prayer. Here are this week’s prayer points. Thank you for standing with us and lifting these needs to the Lord!

September 4 Praise God for the excellent contacts and connections made by JAARS staff at the recent Overland Expo Mountain West in Colorado.

September 5 Please continue to pray for our Senior Leadership Team as they make important decisions in preparation for completing the FY2027 budget.

September 6 Pray for continued wisdom, health, and safety for the JAARS team visiting Kenya to assist with aircraft maintenance.

September 7 Our Global Operations team recently concluded meetings here at the Waxhaw base. Pray for the successful implementation of the plans that they developed during their meetings.

September 8 Continue praying for our Partner Representatives as they reach out to new partners resulting from the very positive CBN stories of JAARS work in Papua New Guinea.

September 9 Thank God that the 4x4 and motorcycle training JAARS staff provided for Carter Center leaders in Zanzibar went well.

September 10 Pray for favor in ongoing discussions with potential new FlightSpan subscribers.

September 11 Praise God that the L4 helicopter was loaded in its container and departed for Papua New Guinea. Pray it will arrive safely and clear customs without any problems.

We have the joy of welcoming Frank Ralls as our new Music Director. Last Sunday, we had Frank lead our worship music as a candidate for our music director position. Watch and listen to the video of Lord, I Need You played by our worship band.

Frank has years of experience leading worship at various churches, composing and producing music for Disney, and co-founded and directs the Coronado Arts Academy. He and his wife Tara recently moved back to San Diego from Florida. They have five adult kids. Join us in welcoming Frank and Tara to Covenant and pray for them as they get settled.

Sunday, September 6th, will be Michael Bottomley's last Sunday as our Music Director. Over the past four years, Michael has wonderfully served our church family with faithfulness, intentionality, care, and musical gifts. We thank the Lord for the time we've had with Michael and his family part of our worshiping community, for God's good work in his life, and for his partnership in the gospel. Please share your words of encouragement and gratitude with Michael and pray for him as he transitions into a new season.
