Our latest adventure took us to San Marcos and the Double Peak Trail, which runs from Discovery Lake to Double Peak Park. And what an adventure it was!

The 4.75-mile journey started with sunny weather at Discovery Lake. By the time we reached Double Peak summit, the weather turned wintry with dark, cloudy skies and a bone-chilling, brisk wind that limited our time at the peak.

We switched gears, descended down the mountain and did our worship music set on a dock in Discovery Lake. It wound up being an awesome experience and we were joined by singing birds and unique-looking ducks.

We broke free from May Gray and reveled in an awesome hike on the Santa Ysabel Nature Center Loop Trail. Despite temperatures that reached 81 degrees, we conquered five miles of hills, lifted our spirits with worship music, and celebrated the completion of our hike with sweet treats at the Julian Pie Company.

Our April Sunday hike at the Blue Sky Ecological Reserve and Lake Poway was a great experience. The 6-mile journey allowed us to connect with God’s creation, challenge ourselves on steep hills, and find serenity during worship time overlooking the lake.

If you are looking for quality hiking poles at a great price, head over to Costco and pick up a set of Cascade Mountain Carbon Fiber Trekking
Poles. I (Vinnie) have used these for years and they are strong, lightweight and support me in difficult terrain. They are a seasonal item, so pick up a pair before they are gone.
