VBS Day 4 Recap

Day FOUR of VBS Illumination Station is in the books, and what a day it has been! We absolutely loved seeing our campers’ creativity shine during SUPER COLOR SPIRIT DAY. They showed up bright, bold, and ready to have fun!
Even with all the excitement, our mission has remained the same all week long:
Shining a light on who Jesus really is.

🎯 AWANA (Kindergarten–3rd Grade)
Wednesdays | 5:15–6:45 PM

This fun-filled evening helps kids build a strong foundation in God’s Word through games, Scripture memory, and engaging activities.

VBS Mexico This Saturday!

Want to make a difference in our world with your family? Join us as we take what we have learned at VBS this summer and share it with our friends in Tijuana. We will tell a story, do a craft, play some games, and feed the kids and families. This is a family-friendly, one-day international experience! We will gather at Vision de Dios, a church in a nice neighborhood of Tijuana.

Event Details
What: VBS in Mexico!
When: THIS SATURDAY, June 13th, 2026
Time: 7:30 am - Late Afternoon
Meet: The Church (and then TJ Mexico)
Cost: $30.00 per individual / $40.00 per family (4 or more)
Documentation Required: Please remember to bring your current passport! (Passports booklets are required for all ages.)
Chaperones: VBS campers and middle schoolers under16 must be accompanied by a parent.

VBS 2026 - Day 3 Recap

Hard to believe our VBS Illumination Adventure is already more than halfway through- what a week it has been!
Day 3 Energy Was Strong

We were determined to keep our Day 3 energy strong. Sometimes campers start to feel a little tired by midweek, but not our Light Bearers! They showed up with enthusiasm, excitement, and plenty of energy. Today was packed with fun, laughter, and learning, thanks to our incredible team of leaders who kept the momentum high and the smiles even higher.

Our campers continue to impress us with their daily memory verses and are absolutely loving our special guests, Hudson and Professor Luma. These two glow guides have been using the Luminescent Light Locator and the Life-Illuminating Laboratory to bring light into the darkest places. If you haven’t heard about their adventures yet, be sure to ask your child- they’ve got some stories to tell!

The kids enjoyed another full day rotating through crafts, recreation, music, snacks, and Bible story time. In crafts, they created some adorable pipe cleaner fish. The creativity and attention to detail they put into their projects was amazing to see!

VBS 2026 - Day 2 Recap

We did it- Day 2 is in the books! We had another fantastic day shining a light on who Jesus really is and learning to shine His light wherever we go. Our campers embraced today’s Neon Day theme with some incredible outfits! The bright pink, yellow, green, and teal shirts, along with all the light-up necklaces, glasses, and bracelets, helped us glow for Jesus all day long.

Our campers stayed busy throughout every rotation! Did you see the adorable Jesus’ Baptism in a Cup craft? The kids have also been having a blast at Rec with balloons, relay races, lots of laughter, and even a few leaders getting “pie-d” in the face! During Music, everyone was rocking out to Illumination Station and God’s Promised Son. Keep listening at home and helping your campers learn those lyrics!
Jesus is God’s Perfect Son

Today we learned that Jesus is God’s perfect Son. Our Bible story came from Matthew 3:13-17, Mark 1:1-11, and John 1:29-34. We heard how Jesus came to the Jordan River to be baptized by John the Baptist. At first, John didn’t think he should baptize Jesus because Jesus had no sin, but Jesus explained that it was God’s plan.
When Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens opened, the Holy Spirit descended like a dove, and God the Father declared, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” What an amazing reminder that Jesus is exactly who He says He is!

Day 1 of VBS with our Canyon Springs Light Bearers was a BLAST!

Our amazing team of adult and youth leaders made sure our campers had an unforgettable first day. This morning, campers rotated through four exciting adventures- Crafts, Snack/Rec, Music, and Story- all designed to point back to our mission for the week:
Shining a light on who Jesus really is.

Today’s Bible story came from Matthew 16:13-20. Jesus asked His disciples two important questions: “Who do people say I am?” and “Who do you say I am?” The disciples shared what others were saying about Jesus, but Peter boldly answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

This passage teaches us that Jesus is far more than a teacher or prophet- He is God’s Son and the Savior He promised to send.

What an incredible start to VBS! 🎉 Our Canyon Springs Light Bearers jumped into a day full of games, music, crafts, snacks, laughter, and learning about who Jesus really is. 💡

Today we discovered that Jesus is the Messiah- the Son of the Living God—and that knowing Him changes everything! 🙌
