A bright light.

A mother to many.

After a three-week struggle Alexis Karin Braga entered into the presence of her Lord August 9, 2026.

We as a family thank you with the deepest and most sincere gratitude for your prayers through this tragedy.

We invite continued prayer now as Dan, Nyla, and Jobe, and Alexis’s mom, sister, and larger family, enter into an extended season of grief, some of which will not end until we are reunited with Alexis and Sophia in the Kingdom Come.

We rest all of our hope now as we always have upon the resurrection.

Dearest Neighbors —

Thank you to everyone who showed up at the Braga House of Prayer this week: who sat in the waiting, interceded hour by hour, and carried this family and this community with your presence and your tears. We remain in deep grief, right next to reckless hope.

The Prayer House won’t continue, but the prayer will — through our community groups, where we can grieve together in a smaller, closer circle.

For the next few Sundays we’ll gather at Adams Elementary, leaning into simplicity and stillness.

Dearest Neighbors,

We grieve with heavy hearts. Sophia passed on July 20th and is with the Lord. Alexis remains in critical condition; Dan is stable but still needs healing. Jobe, Nyla, and Ben are grieving a sister and a wife.

We will not rush past the sorrow — we will cry out with courageous hope.

Join us Sunday as we weep with those who weep — a gathering of collective mourning, worship, and intercession.

Kids check-in as usual; popsicles and grief resources on hand for parents.

Come as you are — questions, anger, numbness, thin faith. There’s room for all of it.

Dearest Neighbors,

It’s with deep grief we want you all to know that on July 20th, 2026 our dear pastors and friends, Dan & Alexis Braga and their oldest daughter Sophia were in a devastating car accident.

We are heartbroken to share that Sophia passed away in the accident.

Dan and Alexis were life flighted to a hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. Alexis is in critical condition and thankfully Dan is stable.

Through this unspeakable grief Jobe, Nyla, and Sophia’s husband, Ben are surrounded by family as we their community here continue to intercede for full and complete healing of both Dan & Alexis’ bodies and minds.

Join us as we embody all that the spirit has been shepherding us in being a community of love, marked by generosity and unity.

Financial support for the recovery ahead will run directly through our Love Thy Neighbor - Braga Fund through our sister church, Ridgeside.

In this season we will hold this deep sorrow right next to petitions for life and complete healing.

Our next Community Summer Park Day is this Sunday at 4p!

This is a great way to get to know people within Neighbors. Bring your own games (pickleball paddles, volleyballs, spikeball sets, etc) as well as a blanket/chair, & snacks/drinks. Look for the Neighbors tent!

In a culture where masculinity is in crisis, the Holy Spirit is raising up a generation of men who father and love their communities with Christ’s love. Neighbors is blessed by many men who live this out in their every day lives.
