We also get to connect, pray, & worship together--a great way to spend part of your holiday weekend!

At Submerge, we believe that "WE are the church together", and everything we do only happens because of volunteers who share their time & talents to be used by God here. So we really like to celebrate our amazing volunteers!

This week we want to highlight our new volunteers Jon & Sarah--they just moved into OB a couple months ago & instantly plugged into Submerge & started contributing to God's mission here! On Sundays, Jon has been serving in our worship band, while Sarah helps on our tech team (Sound & Media). They've helped at several community outreaches already, including bringing lunch & supplies to teachers at two schools, our Parents Night Out, and more! They're a valuable part of our Life Groups, and are excited to continue connecting with more & more people in OB and at Submerge. So be sure to connect with them!

We're always looking for more great volunteers like this to join us!

Coming this Sunday! We've spent the last few weeks submerging into hope (something we all need more of these days, and God wants to offer), and this week we get to learn how to find hope in the toughest storms we face...

We also get to celebrate Communion together. And we're inviting anyone to join us for lunch at South Beach (end of Newport) for lunch together after church--because we love eating together & building friendships around tables!

Tonight we tried our latest Submerge idea for sharing our building to bless others—by hosting “Parents Night Out” where we watch their kids for free with lots of fun & games, and send the parents out for a fun evening off (with the option to take local gift cards with them). It went great!! HUGE thank you to our volunteers who took great care of the kids. And we’re not sure who enjoyed it more/-the parents or the kids 😉

Hope isn't just something we need when our world is falling apart-- it's something we need every morning when we wake up & face our daily lives! So on Sunday we learned from Peter's powerful story & letters about how to choose hope each day, what to "set our hope on", and how to find the beautiful "counterweights" of life that balance out the hard stuff.
