We all face different seasons of pain & suffering, and they can be really challenging for our faith. How do we endure these seasons? And submerge deeper into our faith in them instead of abandoning it? We’ll tackle it this Sunday as we continue our new sermon series based on a very over-looked part of Revelation. God has some great hope for us—so come join us!

We always love following Jesus' example of building relationships "around the table", and summer is a great time to do that. And it's even more impactful when we do it while supporting local spots--so much can come out of it!

So to make it fun, we have "punch cards" you can get at Submerge on Sunday to earn some free stuff as you eat together. Check out a list of spots we're supporting on our Events page. And think about who you want to invite to eat with you--on a Sunday after church, before a Life Group, or any time!

The biggest event of the year in OB is happening in a few weeks--and we're excited to once again play a big part in it! But we need your help to do that...so here are two easy/fun ways you can help support us:
1) Sign up for a 2hr shift at our Submerge booth either at our booth (right in front of our building) giving out lots of fun prizes & meeting lots of people, or welcoming people inside our building. Sign up: signup.com/go/UsCVLoX

2) Support our Submerger Lucas (leader of our Young Adult Life Group) as he represents us in the big Dirty Birds wings contest! You can come cheer him on at the contest, and help out right now by donating to sponsor him--all proceeds help the OB Clean & Safe & Beautification Committee (which Carter co-chairs) and helps our own neighborhood!

Shout-out to all of the volunteers (only some are pictured) last Saturday morning to help us paint & refresh the break-room & patio at SDPD Western Division! It turned out beautifully and will mean a lot to them and to their morale.

Is your faith feeling "dry", like you're just going through the motions? Has your faith become about rules and lost the "relationship"? On Sunday we kicked off our new series based on the "letters to the seven churches" in Revelation--and we learned how to return to the passion we first had in our faith, by re-focusing on love.

Some ideas we shared to re-connect with God today / this summer--Which will you try?
*Reprioritize time with God (not just tasks for God)
*Remove one distraction that’s crowding out God
*Pray honestly, not formally
*Do one thing you used to do when your faith was alive
*Bring someone alongside you

We're excited to kick off a new sermon series this Sunday based on a very over-looked part of Revelation, and we get to start by discovering how to return to the joy/passion/love we first had in our faith...

And we get to celebrate Communion together--always a powerful time! Join us to learn, connect, laugh, pray & worship together...
