Did you know that every week, schools across Mexico hold a flag ceremony called Honores a la Bandera? 🇲🇽

Our schools in Baja and Oaxaca are no different.

The ceremony begins with the escolta, a team of older students chosen to carry the flag. Students recite the pledge to the Mexican flag, sing the national anthem, and at our Baja school, also recite pledges to the Christian flag and the Bible before hearing a short devotional.

Part of restoring vulnerable children is helping raise them into healthy, responsible adults — teaching them and what it means to be good citizens of their country and their world.

¿Sabías que cada semana las escuelas en México realizan una ceremonia llamada Honores a la Bandera? 🇲🇽

Nuestras escuelas en Baja y Oaxaca no son la excepción.

La ceremonia comienza con la escolta, un grupo de estudiantes mayores encargado de portar la bandera. Los alumnos recitan el juramento a la bandera, cantan el himno nacional y, en nuestra escuela en Baja, también hacen juramentos a la bandera cristiana y a la Biblia antes de escuchar una breve reflexión.

Parte de restaurar la vida de niños vulnerables es ayudarles a crecer como adultos sanos y responsables, enseñándoles lo que significa ser buenos ciudadanos de su país y de su mundo.

Abril, a caretaker in our Baja children’s home, shares the story of how God transformed the heart of one of the children in our care.

When he first arrived, he withdrew from everyone around him. Today, he laughs, plays, gives hugs, and is beginning to experience the warmth of a safe home.

Please continue praying for the children in our home — that God would keep healing hearts and surrounding every child with the love of family.

Eva, part of our new personalized care initiative, shares how we remodeled a space on our Baja mission to create a more welcoming and comfortable environment for state-sanctioned family visits.

Through this new initiative, we cultivating relationships with biological parents and are working to restore entire families and build healthier homes for children.

Elizabeth has welcomed many young adults into her home during her years serving with Foundation for His Ministry. In this story, she shares how learning one girl’s past changed the way she understood her behavior.

So often, trauma looks like rebellion, anger, or withdrawal. But healing begins when someone takes the time to look beyond behavior and see the heart of a child or young person. 

Elizabeth ha recibido a muchos jóvenes en su casa durante sus años sirviendo con Foundation for His Ministry. En esta historia, comparte cómo conocer el pasado de una joven cambió la manera en que entendía su comportamiento.

Muchas veces, el trauma se ve como rebeldía, enojo o aislamiento. Pero la sanidad comienza cuando alguien se toma el tiempo para mirar más allá del comportamiento y ver el corazón de un niño o joven.

Since Chuck and Charla Pereau first visited the property that would become our Baja mission in 1966, Foundation for His Ministry has been dedicated to creating a place of refuge for the vulnerable children of Mexico.

Now, nearly 60 years later, that mission remains the same: rescuing children in the name of Jesus.

Desde que Chuck y Charla Pereau visitaron por primera vez la propiedad que se convertiría en nuestra misión en Baja en 1966, Foundation for His Ministry se ha dedicado a crear un lugar de refugio para los niños vulnerables de México.

Ahora, casi 60 años después, esa misión sigue siendo la misma: rescatar a los niños en el nombre de Jesús.
