There’s something special about gathering together as the church.

Today was another reminder that God is at work. Through worship, His Word, prayer, and simply being together, we’re thankful for every opportunity to grow in our faith and encourage one another.

What God is doing doesn’t end when the service is over. We carry it with us into our homes, our workplaces, our schools, and our communities.

We’re grateful for what the Lord is doing at Church of the Highlands and excited for what’s ahead.

Stay connected and find your next step at highlands.us.

Two men, two gardens, two completely different outcomes. Adam stood in paradise with every advantage and caved to suggestion. Jesus stood in a barren wasteland, physically depleted, and held the line with three words: it is written. No clever arguments, no attempts to outthink the enemy, no reliance on human strength. Just the word of God, accurately applied. The pattern is there for anyone willing to follow it. The same Spirit that brought Scripture to Jesus' mind can bring it to yours—but only if you've put it there first. Drop a 🔥 if this hit different.

Following the Spirit's guidance doesn't come with a comfort guarantee. The same Spirit who filled Jesus led Him straight into wilderness testing—not around it. That's the pattern: God's leading takes believers into places designed to stretch, prove, and refine faith. Not punishment. Preparation. Character gets forged in difficulty so you can be used more effectively for what comes next. Expecting smooth roads because you're obedient? That expectation needs adjustment. Tag someone who's in their wilderness season right now.

Who are you hoping to walk into this weekend with—someone who knows your name, or someone you’re ready to meet? There’s room for you here, and we’d love to save you a seat at Church of the Highlands.

Every temptation traces back to one root accusation: God is holding out on you. When the serpent approached Eve, he didn't start with 'disobey God.' He started with a question designed to plant doubt about God's goodness—suggesting that any restriction meant humanity wasn't truly free. Then came the explicit contradiction of God's word. The pattern hasn't changed. Satan still speaks lies that attack the trustworthiness of what God has said. When God places limits, they're intended for protection and good. Satan reframes them as repression and control. Recognizing that twist is half the battle. Tag someone who needs to hear this today 🔥

Most people eat two or three meals daily without thinking, but how often do you feed your spirit with the same consistency? The battle between flesh and spirit isn't metaphor—it's the internal war you feel every time you know what's right and do what's easy instead. Your old nature and new nature are constantly pulling in opposite directions. The flesh wins when it's well-fed and the spirit is neglected. Fasting flips the script: it weakens what fights against you and strengthens what fights for you. When's the last time you prioritized your spirit over your stomach?
