Bishop Alberto Rojas reminds us that God gave us intelligence, creativity, and the ability to understand nature so that we can be responsible stewards of what He has entrusted to us. 🌎 It is important to remember that our choices affect others especially those living in the poorest and most vulnerable communities around the world. 🌱

We rejoice with the entry of nine new seminarians into St. Junipero Serra House of Formation. Today they celebrated a Commitment Mass with Bishop Rojas at Christ the Redeemer Church, where they received the symbolic Liturgy of the Hours book to ground them in daily prayer. Let us pray for these men as they begin their journey in seminary formation.

As Catholics, we are called to care for and cherish God’s creation. Pope Francis reminds us that we are connected to all creation and called to care for our common home and for one another.

Bishop Alberto Rojas shares his deep love for nature and reflects on how growing up surrounded by the beauty of creation shaped his appreciation for God’s handiwork. When we fail to respect and care for creation, the effects are felt by everyone, especially those most vulnerable. Bishop Rojas offers an important message to young people: in a world filled with technology and constant distractions, we need to make time to step outside, reflect, experience the beauty of nature, and reconnect with God our Creator.

From September 1 to October 4, we are invited to celebrate the Season of Creation, this year reflecting on the theme “Living Water.”
