God Alone is the Righteous Judge

1 Samuel 2:3-5
“Stop acting so proud and haughty! Don’t speak with such arrogance! For the Lord is a God who knows what you have done; he will judge your actions. The bow of the mighty is now broken, and those who stumbled are now strong. Those who were well fed are now starving, and those who were starving are now full. The childless woman now has seven children, and the woman with many children wastes away.”

Hannah had once been the woman who stumbled under the weight of sorrow while others looked down on her. Now, as she praises the Lord, her focus is no longer on herself or even on Peninnah. Instead, she declares who God is. He sees every heart, knows every motive, humbles the proud, and lifts up the humble.

These verses remind us that God alone is the righteous Judge. He sees what others cannot see and faithfully accomplishes His purposes in His perfect way and in His perfect time. While people often judge by outward appearances, the Lord always sees the heart.

These verses remind us to seek the Lord’s approval above the approval of people. Our hope is to trust Him with a humble heart, knowing that He sees what no one else can see and that His ways are always right.

Father, thank You for knowing our heart completely. Keep us from pride and from seeking the approval of others. Help us seek to trust You, Your heart, presence, peace, love, wisdom, and will, resting in Your justice, and living each day for Your glory.

May the Lord shower you with grace and mercy today and guide you to his purpose

SPREAD THE WORD

Bring all Burdens to the Father

1 Samuel 1:2
“Elkanah had two wives, Hannah and Peninnah. Peninnah had children, but Hannah did not.”

Hannah’s pain was real. Year after year she endured disappointment, misunderstanding, and the cruel words of someone who knew exactly where she hurt the most. Even Elkanah, who deeply loved her, could not fully understand the burden she carried.

Yet Hannah continued to go to the house of the Lord. She did not turn away from God because life was hard. Though her heart was broken, she kept coming to the One who knew her completely.

These verses remind us that we can bring every burden to our Heavenly Father. Our hope is to keep coming to Him in every season of life, trusting that He hears our heart and knows what is best, even when we do not yet understand His ways.

Father, thank You that we can come to You just as we are. Help us to keep seeking You through every joy and every sorrow, trusting that You know our heart completely. Teach us to follow You faithfully and to rest in Your loving care.

SPREAD THE WORD

Walk in Faith and God will Accomplish more than you can Imagine

Ruth 4:17
“And the women of the neighborhood gave him a name, saying, “A son has been born to Naomi.” They named him Obed. He was the father of Jesse, the father of David.”

What seemed like the end of Naomi’s story was only the beginning of God’s greater plan. The woman who once believed she had returned empty now held God’s blessing in her arms. Through Obed came Jesse, then David, and generations later, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer.

God’s plans are always greater than we can see. Ruth could not have imagined that her simple faith and devotion would become part of the family line through which the Messiah would enter the world. Our lives may seem ordinary, but when we walk by faith, God is able to accomplish far more than we could ever imagine for His glory.

These verses remind us that our life is part of a story much bigger than our own. Our hope is to faithfully follow the Lord each day, trusting that He is accomplishing His perfect purposes even when we cannot see the whole picture.

Father, thank You for Your perfect plan of redemption. Thank You for sending Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Help us to walk by faith, trusting that You are writing a story far greater than we can see. May our life bring glory to You as we faithfully follow wherever You lead.
