From Pastor Denver:
Pre-Thanksgiving pep-talk!
Here we are again, that time of year to gather with family and friends to celebrate Thanksgiving. It seems like the hustle and bustle of everyday life has a way to infiltrate this really cool time and rip off the all real blessings of spending this precious time together. I mean, let's face it. We have become a generation of "tech-talkers". Oh I don't mean in the literal sense, but how we communicate with each other, by email, text, social media, etc.
It's become the "normal" way to keep in touch, from catching up with an old friend to asking someone to pick up milk from the store. Grab the cell phone, and tap away for a few seconds, and BOOM...hit send and get back to whatever your busy life has you chained to. Honestly, sometimes I forget what my own son’s voices sound like, there's a fundamental problem with all this I think.
So, this year, even if you can't be with a loved one, "CALL" them on the phone, and just "talk"... It's easy you just move your lips and make sounds come out, you'll love it!!
But if you are blessed with their presence, make it count. Tell them what they mean to you, why you are Thankful that they're in your life. Tell them that you love them, it's really never said enough anymore in our fast paced world, but means so much when spoken "Out loud".
Let's take these few days before Thanksgiving and really ponder what it means to be Thankful, and then share that with "real" words to those you will be with on Thursday. I promise it will make you feel great, and make them feel loved and important to you, as they should be.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
