This week we are starting a new series called "Strength in numbers"
All about the fact we are not meant to go through life alone.
Have you ever noticed with the younger kids in your family, school or church, that they sometimes think they know more than you? Or a friend that thinks they know everything and then when they're proved wrong they have some lame excuse? Or just anyone who has to always be right? Well we all have times in our life where we think we know everything. But the truth is we can't know everything and that's ok. But there is wisdom in admitting that we don't know everything. In Proverbs 12:15, it says "Fools think their own way is right, but the wise listen to others". Most things you know right now, you learned from someone. We all need someone in our life that's a step ahead that will mentor us in life. Yes it's good to have friends your age, but make sure you find someone with a little more experience, so that you know they have been there and can help. So look for someone wise. We need someone to tell us the truth also, even when it's not something we want to hear, someone who will encourage you and keep you accountable, and you need to give them permission to. So that they can help remind you that maybe you shouldn't go to that party, or shouldn't say that to your parents, or just be able to genuinely ask how you are and be there to listen and recheck in with you later. So do you have someone like that? Did you give permission to someone to call you out- in love -to help you better your future? Maybe your thinking a coach, teacher or parent? Well you also have those people here at our youth group. Your leaders. Your leaders come every week for you and to be here for you through the good and bad! They're here just to be here for you how ever you need! So don't just ignore that, take advantage of the people that are here for you every week that God has intentionally put in this group and your life, because God did not intend for you to go through life alone!
