Every teen gets to live through challenges that can literally pull a person’s heart in a million directions, but all of the pressure and conflict involved in this stretch of life is elevated in teens trying to find their place in Christ. How do you walk in purity when everyone around you is having s*x? How do you maintain grace in your speech when every other person is gossiping, cursing, or shari
ng stories that come from websites that you aren’t allowed by law to visit at school? These are real questions that require real answers and real engagement with the same urgency and intent that we use to share Jesus; because He is the only one who can teach us, for He is the answer. In an identity crisis, people need stability to hold on to as they come to affirm and establish their own identity and root it firmly. Christ has to be this stability for teens, but in addition to showing His glory and mercy at the cross, we must demonstrate how His grace can instruct and strengthen daily, so teens can see and become who they are really meant to be. This is our goal and ministry focus, to teach and demonstrate what people are meant to be when impacted by God’s grace. This is not preaching or teaching or a steps-to-success program, this is a ministry of process that utilizes all three to help teens look past the broken images of what teens are encouraged to be, so they can see who God has made them to be.
