They not going to like this, but it MUST be said:
A TITLE / POSITION: ARE YOU DEAD WEIGHT?
One of the greatest dangers in the Body of Christ is not a lack of titles—it is having titles without testimony, positions without productivity, and authority without accountability.
Far too many people desire a title but neglect the responsibility that comes with it. They want the position, the recognition, the seat at the table, and the honorific, but when it comes to the work, the sacrifice, the commitment, and the accountability, they become dead weight.
The Apostle Paul instructed Timothy:
“Make full proof of thy ministry.” (2 Timothy 4:5, KJV)
The Greek word for "full proof" is plērophoreō, meaning to fully accomplish, fully carry out, completely fulfill, or bring to completion.
In other words, don't just hold the title—fulfill the assignment.
A bishop, pastor, elder, apostle, prophet, evangelist, deacon, missionary, department leader, auxiliary president, jurisdictional officer, fellowship leader, or board member should never become spiritual dead weight. We are called to advance the Kingdom, not merely occupy space within it.
Jesus Himself declared:
“For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required.” (Luke 12:48)
Every title carries a corresponding responsibility.
Every position carries an expectation.
Every calling carries an accountability.
The Scriptures are clear concerning commitments:
“When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed. Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.”(Ecclesiastes 5:4-5)
The Hebrew word for vow is neder, (meaning a promise, pledge, or binding commitment made before God.
How many churches, fellowships, communions, and denominations are struggling because people made commitments they never intended to keep?
Commitments of service.
Commitments of attendance.
Commitments of support.
Commitments of giving.
Commitments of leadership.
Yet what follows is often a long list of excuses rather than ex*****on.
God is not impressed by our titles. He is looking for our faithfulness.
“Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.” (1 Corinthians 4:2)
The Greek word for faithful is pistos, meaning trustworthy, dependable, reliable, and worthy of confidence.
Can the ministry depend on you?
Can your bishop depend on you?
Can your pastor depend on you?
Can your fellowship depend on you?
Can God depend on you?
The Kingdom does not need more titles.
The Kingdom needs more workers.
Not more position holders.
More burden bearers.
Not more excuses.
More ex*****on.
Let us examine ourselves and ask honestly:
Am I advancing the assignment, or am I simply occupying a position?
Because at the end of the day, God will not judge us by the title we carried.
He will judge us by what we did with the assignment He entrusted to us.
“Well done, thou good and faithful servant..." (Matthew 25:21)
Not well-titled.
Not well-positioned.
Not well-known.
But well done.
