St. Benedict parish family,

Thank you to everyone who participated in our Corpus Christi Procession yesterday. Your presence was a beautiful witness to our faith in the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist.

As we carried Our Lord through our streets, we publicly proclaimed what we believe: that Christ is truly present among us and continues to walk with His people.

Thank you to all who helped organize, serve, sing, pray, and attend. May this procession bear fruit in our parish and deepen our love for the Eucharist.

Today on Memorial Day, we pause as a nation to remember and honor all those men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

As Catholics, we remember that sacrifice is never forgotten before God. We pray for all who laid down their lives in defense of others, and we entrust them to the mercy and love of Almighty God.

We also remember their families, those who continue to carry both gratitude and loss in their hearts. May they find comfort, strength, and peace.

Freedom is never without cost. Today, let us not only enjoy the blessings we have received, but also remember those whose sacrifice made them possible.

At St. Benedict Catholic Church, we offer our prayers for all fallen service members, for our veterans, and for all who continue to serve our nation. 🇺🇸

This week, as we celebrate National Police Week, we had the privilege of celebrating a Blue Mass in honor of all police officers, first responders, and emergency personnel who serve our communities with courage, sacrifice, and dedication. We give thanks for the many men and women who place themselves in harm’s way each day in order to protect and care for others.

Today, we also attended the dedication of a roadway named in honor of one of our fallen parishioners, Lt. Milton Resendez, who gave his life in the line of duty. It was a meaningful reminder of the great cost of service and of the lasting debt of gratitude we owe to those who serve faithfully, even unto death.

As a parish family, we continue to pray for all law enforcement officers, first responders, and their families. May the Lord protect them, strengthen them in their vocation of service, comfort the families of the fallen, and grant eternal rest to those who have died in the line of duty.

St. Michael the Archangel, protect and defend them always.

Yesterday we celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation here at St. Benedict Catholic Church. We thank God for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon our students and for the grace of this beautiful day.

A special thank you to Bishop Daniel Flores for celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation with our parish family and for his presence, prayers, and encouragement to our young people.

Confirmation is not a graduation from the faith, but a strengthening to continue living as faithful disciples of Jesus Christ. May our newly confirmed remain close to the Lord in prayer, faithful to the Eucharist, and always open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Thank you as well to our catechists, sponsors, families, choir, ushers, altar servers, and all who helped make this celebration possible. Please continue to pray for our newly confirmed.
