We hear so often the statement "God is good all the time and all the time God is good". We can acknowledge his goodness because we personally have experienced it. God's goodness is meant to draw us to repentance. Romans 2:4 states"Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?" If we only acknowledge his goodness
without repenting we are just hearers and not doers of his word!
