We continue walking in the path of Hope, allowing ourselves to be inspired by new testimonies from the , stories of women religious who bring hope to communities around the world.
Today, we share the mission of Sr. Giovanna Llerena Alfaro, Dominican Missionary of the Rosary, in the heart of the jungle of Cusco, Peru, where she walks alongside the indigenous communities of the Bajo Urubamba, promoting an Amazonian Church and a preaching born from contemplation.
In a spirit of communion, Sr. Giovanna’s mission recalls the importance of “removing one’s shoes, because the place you are standing on is sacred.”
“It is important to remove one’s ideas and mindsets of protagonism, and to recognize that we are in a sacred place, a place of encounter, of interconnection, of cultural and spiritual wealth; a place filled with God,” she says.
