*OVERCOMING SIN*

*July 19, 2023*

READ: *Hebrews 11:23-28*

_By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;_ *CHOOSING RATHER TO SUFFER* _affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy_ *THE PLEASURES OF SIN FOR A SEASON;* - *Hebrews 11:24-25*

*By faith Moses overcame his attraction to the pleasures of sin.* He was able to turn away from the attractions and temptations of modern Egypt. He turned away and walked deep into the desert and lived the life of a nomad for forty years. Moses chose rather to suffer than to enjoy the pleasures of sin. A normal person will not choose to suffer. A normal person will rather choose to enjoy the pleasures of sin.

Today, _many struggle with sin, temptation and immorality._ Satan accuses and abuses us all the time because of our failings. We have no peace in our minds and our souls because we are constantly dirty in our own eyes. There is good news for you and me today. *Faith is a master key to overcoming sin and moral weakness.* _Fornication, immorality, homosexuality and all other perversions can be overcome by faith._

*Sin is an evil thing with a power behind it.* Sin is an evil, mysterious mutation that has occurred in the natural race. It is neither natural nor easy to escape from its power. There is an evil spirit behind sin. _Sin is indeed a mysterious thing drawing even the most spiritual down, if it can._ This evil power draws men who do not want to sin. *Many people simply give up, as they are overwhelmed with the power of iniquity. This is where faith comes in.*

Faith is a very important thing. *Faith is something you must develop because it will help you overcome the power of sin and iniquity.* _Your faith will really help you to be a good Christian._

```I predict that all forms of sin, wickedness, stealing, sinful pleasures, po*******hy, adultery, fornication, jealousy, quarrelling, gossiping, drunkenness, drugs and addictions will be overcome by the power of faith in God. By faith, you will walk away from all addictions that threaten your Christianity.```

*SKILL*

*July 13, 2023*

READ: *Daniel 1:17-20*

_And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: ...he found them_ *TEN TIMES BETTER* _than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm._ - *Daniel 1:19-20*

*The elevation of Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego was because of their skill.*

*Skill determines who is chosen.* Skill determines whether you will be ten times better or not. _Skill is the master key to becoming ten times better as a minister or a pastor._ Ten times better is a higher version of ministry.

_The skill of preaching, the skill of singing and the skill of playing instruments will determine a lot of things about your life._ Your skill of personally being able to help will also determine things for you.

*Skill is the master key to building*. Skill determines whether you will build a house or not. _Failure to build reveals the lack of practical skills._ Impractical men build nothing! Building projects do not come on because impractical “armchair leaders” are in charge of things.

*Skill is something that requires humility; the humility of associating with another who is better than you in order to learn from him.* Without that humility you can never acquire the necessary skills. Without such humility you will never be as wise as Solomon.

_And, behold, I purpose to build an house unto the name of the Lord my God, as the Lord spake unto David my father, saying, Thy son, whom I will set upon thy throne in thy room, he shall build an house unto my name. Now therefore command thou that they hew me cedar trees out of Lebanon; and my servants shall be with thy servants: and unto thee will I give hire for thy servants according to all that thou shalt appoint:_ *FOR THOU KNOWEST THAT THERE IS NOT AMONG US ANY THAT CAN SKILL TO HEW TIMBER LIKE UNTO THE SIDONIANS.* - *1 Kings 5:5-6.*

*YOU MUST GROW*

*July 12, 2023*

READ: *1 Peter 2:1-3*

_As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word,_ *THAT YE MAY GROW* _thereby:_ - *1 Peter 2:2*

*When you get saved, something great has happened.* There is no doubt about this.

_How shall we escape, if we neglect so_ *GREAT SALVATION*; _which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;_ - *Hebrews 2:3*

However, we must understand exactly what has happened. When somebody is born into this world, he starts life as a baby. It is important that he matures into an adult.

There are times when people have the wrong impression about Christianity. The evangelist preaches and says, “Tonight is your night! Your life will never be the same again after today.” He goes on to add, “After tonight, every yoke shall be broken in your life.” He declares, “All you who are heavy laden must come to Jesus and He will give you rest.” This may give the impression that you instantaneously become a mature Christian.

But that is not the case at all! _Being born again is just the beginning of a long process._

_For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:_ - *Isaiah 28:10*

Being born again is like being born into this world. You must go through three important stages of development. Every Christian goes through these three stages whether he knows it or not!

*The baby stage, the childhood stage and then the mature adult stage.*

_That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:_ - *Ephesians 4:14-15*

Day Two | 09-07-23 | The altitude was higher on the Second Day. The Word was awesome. The Holy Spirit was present to minister, heal & transform lives. And indeed we were blessed.

*PRIDEFUL*

*July 9, 2023*

READ: *1 Samuel 23: 1-6*

_Therefore David enquired of the Lord, saying, Shall I go and smite these Philistines? And the Lord said unto David, Go, and smite the Philistines, and save Keilah. ... Then David enquired of the Lord yet again. And the Lord answered him and said, Arise, go down to Keilah; for I will deliver the Philistines into thine hand._ - *1 Samuel 23:2-4*

*King David loved to inquire of the Lord and to consult with Him constantly.* That is why he was a man after God’s own heart. *God loved David because David kept going to Him.*

_And afterward they desired a king: and God gave unto them Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years. And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will._ - *Acts 13:21-22*

The prideful and evil nature of man loves to be independent from God. We want to take decisions on our own and to be free from the need to have to consult anyone.

Wouldn’t you love to work with someone who keeps coming to you and never develops an air of independence and pride? How painful it is to meet these prideful and independent individuals whom you trained and raised up but who try hard to erase any remembrance of your input in their lives.

*Many times, we will have to swallow our own words in order to do the true will of God.* _Many times, we would have to admit that we’ve been wrong about something in order to follow the will of God._ There are times it is very humiliating to make a U-turn and embrace what you have insulted and ridiculed for years.

It is time to follow God into every new season and any new wave of the Spirit. Dear friend, you can regain the crispness and newness of spirit that you once had. You can rise into higher things that God has called you for.

*God wants to raise you up with a brightness that will never fade.*
