The Gospel: God’s Power for Salvation

1 Corinthians 15:1–4 | Teacher Jarod Hahn

The gospel is the good news at the very heart of the Christian faith. In 1 Corinthians 15:1–4, the apostle Paul reminds us of the message that must remain central: Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, was buried, and rose again on the third day.

But the gospel is more than a story to hear—it is truth to receive, stand upon, and live by. It is the message of God’s love, the power of Christ’s sacrifice, and the hope made possible through His resurrection.

In this lesson, Teacher Jarod Hahn examines what the gospel truly is, why the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ matter, and how this good news brings salvation and hope to all who believe and obey it.

Join us as we study the greatest message ever proclaimed: The Gospel—God’s Power for Salvation.

Perilous Times | Nacogdoches Road Church of Christ

We were blessed to have Brother Jake Marbry visit the Nacogdoches Rd Church Of Christ and deliver a timely and thought-provoking message entitled “Perilous Times.”

Brother Marbry challenged us to look carefully at the times in which we are living and examine the signs, dangers, and spiritual challenges that accompany them. Through the Scriptures, he reminded us that God’s people must remain watchful, grounded in His Word, and committed to faithful Christian living—even when the world around us grows increasingly difficult.

This lesson is a powerful reminder that we should not simply recognize the signs of perilous times, but ask ourselves: Are we spiritually prepared to stand when those times come?

We invite you to listen, study along with us, and examine the Scriptures for yourself.

“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.” — 2 Timothy 3:13

What Is the Bible’s Baptism? — Acts 19:1–5

What does the Bible actually teach about baptism?

In this lesson, we examine Acts 19:1–5 and Paul’s encounter with those who had received John’s baptism but had not yet received the baptism commanded under Christ.

This study takes a closer look at four important questions:

1. Baptized—but not baptized into Christ?
2. Baptized—but not for the remission of sins?
3. Baptized—but without faith in God to save?
4. Baptized—but not seeking salvation and a good conscience?

There is often confusion surrounding salvation, baptism, faith, repentance, and what God requires of us. This lesson seeks to let the Scriptures answer the questions, connecting Acts 19:1–5 with other passages throughout the Bible.

📖 What does the Bible say about baptism?

Marriage is a covenant relationship established by God between one man and one woman.

Last week, we examined 1 Corinthians 7:3-6 and discussed marriage itself while exploring God’s design for the marital relationship through the scriptures.

In this lesson, we turn our attention to marriage with children and examine God’s design for the family members responsibility through the Scriptures. Together, we’ll answer these important questions:

Married with Children— Ephesians 6:1–4

1. What are the father’s responsibilities?
2. What are the mother’s responsibilities?
3. What are the children’s responsibilities?
4. Oft overlooked by Christians!

Are you truly religious—or just religious in appearance?

In today’s lesson, David Jordan examines James 1:26-27 and challenges us to compare our lives with God’s definition of pure and undefiled religion. James teaches that true religion is more than outward practices—it is seen in how we speak, how we serve others, and how we remain faithful to God.

Questions for your consideration:

* What do you think of yourself?
* How powerful is the tongue?
* What is the great deception?
* Does pure and false religion exist?
* Are you religious?

Join us as we open God’s Word and seek biblical answers to these important questions.

Marriage is a covenant relationship established by God between one man and one woman.

Last week, we examined 1 Corinthians 7:1–2 and discussed the biblical considerations for choosing whether to marry or remain unmarried.

In this lesson, we turn our attention to marriage itself and examine God’s design for the marital relationship through the Scriptures. Together, we’ll answer these important questions:

Married — 1 Corinthians 7:3–6; Ephesians 5:22–30

1. What responsibilities do husbands and wives owe one another?
2. Who has authority within the marriage relationship?
3. When is abstaining from marital intimacy biblically permissible?
4. What does it mean for wives to submit, and for husbands to love as Christ loved the church?
5. Who is ultimately accountable for each person’s soul?

Please rejoice with Bro Robert Foster who has decided to obey the gospel of Jesus Christ today just as the Ethiopian Eu**ch.

Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eu**ch said, " See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?" Then Philip said, " If you believe with all your heart, you may." And he answered and said, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God." So he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eu**ch went down into the water, and he baptized him. (Acts 8:36-38)
