this is the information to access the trans inclusion course we were talking about the previous meeting. i recommend turning on close captioning, since it uses a zoom format and one of the presenters doesn't have the best connection

also if you copy/paste the code, and are having trouble getting it to accept it, just type it in directly. when i tried to copy/paste, it tended to put a blank at the end of the code.

***URGENT***

A little while ago, the Director of Lifespan Religious Education, Dr. Sheri Phillabaum, sent out an email description of TANG that INCORRECTLY implied that TANG is a psychotherapy group. **TANG IS NOT A PSYCHOTHERAPY GROUP.** I have been facilitating it as a PEER, *NOT* as a licensed clinician. To imply that it is a psychotherapy group instead of a peer group PUTS MY PROFESSIONAL LICENSE AT RISK.

I have emailed the minister and Dr. Sheri Phillabaum and expressed my concerns. They are taking down what's on the church's TANG website (which is where the info in the email came from) for now, to avoid further confusion. I am strongly considering stepping down as TANG facilitator as well, to prevent this kind of misunderstanding from happening in the future. At our upcoming meeting on 11/07 at noon at the church, we can discuss other options for facilitating. (For instance, Danielle Bess has offered to be the facilitator instead.)

Our next meeting is via Zoom on Sunday, September 5, 2021 at 1 pm (an hour later than our usual time).

I just realized something. Our usual TANG meeting time is the first Sunday of the month at noon. However, since I’m currently working on my sermon for the September 5, there’s a chance people may want to discuss it with me during the coffee hour after the service. What do you all think about starting the TANG meeting at 1 pm on September 5 instead? That way, I can be in the coffee hour at noon and then facilitate TANG at 1. (That will be a busy Sunday for me! I’m glad the next day is a federal holiday, which means I’ll get the day off. I’m sure I’ll need it.) I just reached out to First UU leadership about this. Please let me know if this change works for y’all.
