Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. Today's reading Matthew 14:30.
But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”

Do you know this story? Notice that it does not say the wind increased? The wind was blowing when they set sail, long before Peter got out of the boat. The wind I'm seeing today is long work hours, 2 jobs, lots of work and few laborers, etc. The good news is this, when Peter saw the wind, he was within reaching distance of Jesus.

Jesus, thank You for speaking this verse into my ear today. Help me to keep my eyes on You, instead of all of the things life gives us as blinders. You're within reaching distance, waiting to save me yet again. The things we see as struggles in life are always the same, and divert our attention away from You. Keep me focused on You, and increase my faith.
