It is with great grief we announce the passing Steve Kelfer, the son of Russell Kelfer. He was also the website developer for Discipleship Tape Ministries and dedicated his professional life to preserving the legacy and message of Russell. As we mourn his passing, we remember that he is no longer in pain on this earth and is the arms of Christ. Thank you for all of your support for our family during this difficult time.

“Be still and know that I am God.” The more time we spend still listening to God, the more perfectly we will mirror Him and reflect His character! So challenging to be still in our fast moving world, but so important if we want to be a picture of our Heavenly Father!

So thankful that our God is omniscient!

“OUR GOD KNOWS. Before we weep, He collects our tears. Before we cry out in anguish, He prepares a towel of comfort...He knows about your grief and your pain and your sorrow. He knows about your fear and your anxiety. He knows about the crises in the world, and long before this world was formed, He moved in eternity past to deal with them...He knows your weakness and has prepared to turn it into strength. He knows your loneliness and desires to comfort you. He knows how difficult and dangerous and immoral this present world has become. In fact, He knew even before the world was formed, how like the days of Noah these days would be. Our loving, wonderful God even then had ordained and prepared a new heaven and a new earth where the cares and fears of this life would dissolve in an ocean of the glory of God.”

Russell Kelfer, in Lesson # 1239 on the omniscience of God. Series: The Character of God

How big is our God? What is He really like???

“God, once again, has done the impossible. He has taken human words, and by implanting them in HIS Word, where His Spirit can interpret them, He has given to us seeds of understanding. When they blossom, they reveal rich textured portraits of the I AM. Using human illustrations, He has given us tiny fragments of glory to whet our appetites for the glory which is to come.” - Russell Kelfer, Lesson 1238A.

"What does it mean to hunger and thirst after righteousness? It is an inner, almost insatiable desire to be closer to Jesus Christ and thus to be more like Him than even seems to be possible. It is progressive hunger...ask God this week to give you an appetite that you've never had before...an appetite that grows with every passing day so that you cannot be satisfied until you have more and more and more of Him. Oh what bliss, what self-contained joy for those who are in desperation starved for His moment be moment control of their lives for 'they shall be filled with the righteousness of God.' "

Taken from a series on the Beatitudes, Lesson 533 A.

Talk about a job well done. What a legacy and man of God. He's rejoicing in heaven with the King of Kings. What a day that must be for him. Well done faithful servant. You've just changed your address, you're home now.

A helpful article during these hard times.

Sunday morning was already odd. Rather than stand before the church to speak, I sat in front of the television and watched the news. As far as I know, this was the first time we’d ever cancelled all services on all campuses. It was not an easy decision. With city officials urging everyone to stay ho...
