A Story of Hope from our Ministry Partners:

God has called our ministry to reach out to refugees here in San Antonio. We make personal visits to families living in apartment communities in our city. Daily Bread has equipped us with food and resources that have helped us build relationships with these people who are often scared and alone in this new land. Several families asked why we do this, and we simply get to share that we do it because we believe it is what Jesus would do. Often, these sojourners are the last ones to have access to the basic needs, and Daily Bread helps us provide those. We welcome them with the love of Christ, which has opened the door for us to offer English classes and more! But, ultimately, it has also allowed us to bring many to the truth of the Gospel and into a relationship with Jesus.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the team at Cox Manufacturing Company Inc. for spending time with us last week.

After learning more about the mission and impact of Daily Bread, their team jumped right into serving in our warehouse, helping prepare thousands of pounds of food for distribution through our network of Church and Ministry Partners.

We are grateful for companies like Cox Manufacturing that invest their time and talents to serve their community.

Juneteenth reminds us that freedom is precious, justice matters, and every person is made in the image of God.

Today we reflect on the end of slavery in the United States and celebrate the dignity, worth, and God-given value of every human life.

As followers of Christ, we are reminded that the Gospel calls us to love our neighbors, pursue justice, and walk humbly with God. We give thanks for those who persevered through hardship, those who worked for freedom, and the progress that has been made while continuing to pray for reconciliation, unity, and hope.

This past Friday, our Executive Director, Marcus Walker, had the opportunity to join fellow business leaders from across the region at the annual We Run on EOS event hosted at Pedrotti’s Ranch. It was a great day of learning, collaboration, and connecting with others who are committed to building healthy and effective organizations.

For the past three years, Daily Bread Ministries has been operating on the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS), and the difference has been significant. EOS has helped bring greater clarity, accountability, and alignment to our team, strengthening our ability to serve our Church and Ministry Partners well.

We are especially grateful for the relationship God has provided through our friend and EOS Implementer, Rod Smith, whose guidance has helped us better steward the mission entrusted to us.

Each month, a faithful group from Community Bible Church spends time serving at Daily Bread, and we are grateful for their continued partnership.

Their service goes beyond packing food and essential products for distribution through our Ministry Partners. Before they leave, they gather together to pray over the work they have done, asking God to bless each box, each family, and each person who will receive these resources.

They pray that as this food reaches those in need through our Ministry Partners, it would be more than a meal—that it would be a reminder of God's provision, encouragement in a difficult season, and part of a larger story of how He works in people's lives to bring restoration and reconciliation.

Thank you, Community Bible Church, for serving with both your hands and your hearts. Your faithfulness is a blessing to our ministry and to the many lives touched through this work.

A Story of Hope from our Ministry Partners

Louis was brought to our food pantry by his daughter, Joanne, for prayer. Louis shared with us that he didn’t want to live anymore, as he was grieving the recent loss of his wife. As we got to spend some time with him and council him through some of his grief, he decided he wanted to give his life to Jesus. When Louis made that decision, his life was flooded with peace, and he is now getting involved in our church and growing in his faith. Our food pantry is so much more than food, and we are grateful that God is using this ministry to reach people like Louis.
