Let’s talk about HB 249. I read the bill. (Not what you think it is, but what I've read. I posted a link below to the Bill.)
On the surface, it looks like a bill to protect minors. But once you read it, you see the real effect: it punishes adults for doing adult things in front of other adults.
If this were simply about harsher penalties for lewd acts in front of children, I’d support it. That’s not controversial. That’s common sense.
But HB 249 uses the idea of "protecting kids" to slip in broad restrictions on adult expression, adult entertainment, and adult spaces even when no minors are present.
That’s the pattern: Wrap a control bill in child‑protection language so people won’t question it. (and you will not read the Bill, and fall for it's antics)
Don’t let anyone use your kids as political cover to regulate how consenting adults dress, perform, or interact.
..Protecting minors is important, but that can’t be an excuse to police adult lives.
