This Sunday at the Arsenal, we’re celebrating motherly love in all it’s forms.

We’re so excited to celebrate all of our mamas and the ways they support and love well every day.

If someone comes to mind who has loved you in that way, we’d be honored to include their photo in our slideshow—

The fall wasn’t just about disobedience.
It was a rupture in trust.

Once God was seen through suspicion, we started seeing ourselves through shame and others through fear.
Performance, comparison, and competition for acceptance entered the story.

Jesus came to show us a different way.
Love of self. Love of others.
Maybe that’s the way back to the garden.

A widow gives everything she has…and we call it Faith.

But what if Jesus wasn’t celebrating her?

What if He was exposing a system where religion and power work together…and it costs the most vulnerable everything?

And if we’re honest…
that’s not just a story about then.

We still see it.

When faith becomes about control, influence, and enforcing behavior…it often comes at the expense of the very people Jesus moved toward.

Maybe the point isn’t to be like the widow…
but to pay attention to what systems are doing to the people Jesus called us to serve.

Mark 12:38-44 (NIV)
38 As he taught, Jesus said, “Watch out for the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted with respect in the marketplaces, 39 and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets. 40 They devour widows’ houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. These men will be punished most severely.”

41 Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents.
43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”

We were taught black and white.
In or out. Us or them.

But Jesus lived in color.

He crossed lines.
Moved toward people.
Loved without categories.

And maybe resurrection wasn’t about leaving this world…
maybe it was the moment the light broke through
and brought color back to our lives.

It’s been quite a while since our YouTube has gotten some love!

Some messages aren’t meant to stay in a room though. They’re meant to travel.

This is a talk from from a couple weeks ago on seeing people clearly.

We’re going to try and catch up in order to start uploading our talks to YouTube so anyone, anywhere, can listen, reflect, and breathe. 🤞🏽

If your soul has been tired lately, this space was made with you in mind.

Blindness doesn’t always close our eyes; sometimes it quiets our voices when humanity needs them most.

Religious blindness is when devotion to beliefs, systems, or identity keeps us from seeing and responding to the humanity right in front of us.

Our. New series, “Passed By”, started with a simple question:
How often do we rush past our own lives?

So much of our world trains us to capture moments instead of inhabit them. To save memories for later instead of letting them live in our bodies now.

Maybe this isn’t the year we promise ourselves everything will change.

Maybe it’s the year we slow down enough to notice what’s already here.

The sacred, ordinary moments don’t need proof.

They need presence.
