Reminder: Holy Family Parish Adoration first Saturday / Sunday of the Month after each Mass.

Whether you have just 10 minutes in a chapel or a full Holy Hour, here is a simple, practical guide to help you make your time with the Lord fruitful and truly transformative.

1. Prepare your heart and body with reverence.

Genuflect or kneel before the Blessed Sacrament as a sign of faith and respect. Dress modestly, silence your phone, and leave distractions behind. Begin with a short prayer such as, “Lord Jesus, I believe You are truly present here. Help me to adore You with all my heart.”

2. Use the simple ACTS method.

‣ Adoration — simply gaze at Jesus and tell Him you love Him, praising His goodness and mercy.
‣ Contrition — ask forgiveness for your sins with a sincere Act of Contrition.
‣ Thanksgiving — thank Him for your life, family, faith, and especially for this great gift of His Real Presence.
‣ Supplication — bring your personal needs and the needs of the Church, your loved ones, and the world to Him.

3. Incorporate sacred practices to enrich your time.

Pray traditional prayers like the Anima Christi or St. Alphonsus Liguori’s Prayer for Visiting the Blessed Sacrament. Read Scripture (especially John Chapter 6), spend time in loving silence just being with Jesus, journal any thoughts and resolutions, or pray for the Holy Souls in Purgatory and for priests.

4. End your Adoration well.

Thank Jesus again, make a concrete resolution for the day, and close with the Divine Praises or a hymn in your heart. Remember, even if your mind wanders, gently bring it back — Jesus values your effort and loving presence more than perfect concentration. The best Adoration is often simply to spend time lovingly with the Lord.

How about you? What helps you the most during Eucharistic Adoration? Do you have a favorite prayer or practice?

When contemplating the Sacred Heart as the source of justice and love, we connect Christ’s love for us with our love for others. As Pope Francis said in Dilexit Nos, “Our best response to the love of Christ’s heart is to love our brothers and sisters. There is no greater way for us to return love for love” (no. 167). As we meditate on the love Christ has for us, let us pray this Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus for Love and Mercy.

Lord Jesus, You gave your life for us. Your Sacred Heart is ablaze with love. Your hand extends towards me, and towards all, offering love, mercy, and healing. Sacred Heart of Jesus may your love transform me. Burn away my hesitation that I may become your love and radiate your mercy. Amen.

"In the Eucharist, we contemplate Jesus, the bread broken and given for each of us," Pope Leo said.

Saint Padre Pio recited this novena every day for all those who requested his prayers.

This novena can be prayed any time of year or, as did Padre Pio, perpetually throughout the year. However, it is traditionally prayed for nine days prior to the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart.

O Sacred Heart of Jesus,
for whom it is impossible not to have compassion on the afflicted,
have pity on us miserable sinners
and grant us the grace which we ask of you,
through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary,
your tender Mother and ours.

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗛𝗔𝗜𝗟 𝗛𝗢𝗟𝗬 𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗘𝗡 (𝗦𝗔𝗟𝗩𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗚𝗜𝗡𝗔)

Hail, holy Queen, mother of mercy,
our life, our sweetness, and our hope.
To you we cry, poor banished children of Eve;
to you we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn, then, most gracious advocate,
your eyes of mercy toward us;
and after this, our exile,
show unto us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

Pray for us O most holy Mother of God,
That we may be worthy of the promises of Christ.

St. Joseph, foster father of Jesus, pray for us.

Amen.

Hail, Heart of Jesus, save me!
Hail, Heart of my Creator, perfect me!
Hail, Heart of my Savior, deliver me!
Hail, Heart of my Judge, grant me pardon!
Hail, Heart of my Father, govern me!
Hail, Heart of my Spouse, grant me love!
Hail, Heart of my Master, teach me!
Hail, Heart of my King, be my crown!
Hail, Heart of my Benefactor, enrich me!
Hail, Heart of my Shepherd, guard me!
Hail, Heart of my Friend, comfort me!
Hail, Heart of my Brother, stay with me!
Hail, Heart of the Child Jesus, draw me to yourself!
Hail, Heart of Jesus dying on the Cross, redeem me!
Hail, Heart of Jesus in all your states, give yourself to me!
Hail, Heart of incomparable goodness, have mercy on me!
Hail, Heart of splendor, shine within me!
Hail, most loving Heart, inflame me!
Hail, most merciful Heart, work within me!
Hail, most humble Heart, dwell within me!
Hail, most patient Heart, support me!
Hail, most faithful Heart, be my reward!
Hail, most admirable and most worthy Heart, bless me!

Lord Jesus,
let my heart never rest until it finds You,
who are its center, its love, and its happiness.
By the wound in Your heart,
pardon the sins that I have committed
whether out of malice or out of evil desires.

Place my weak heart in Your own divine Heart,
continually under Your protection and guidance,

so that I may persevere in doing good
and in fleeing evil until my last breath.

Amen.

On June 11, the Catholic Bishops of the United States will officially consecrate our nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. 🇺🇸

Devotion to the Sacred Heart existed before St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, but it became widespread through the revelations she received from Jesus in the late 1600s.

In June 1675, during the octave of Corpus Christi, Jesus asked that a feast honoring His Sacred Heart be celebrated on the Friday after the octave of Corpus Christi as an act of reparation for sin.

The Church gradually approved the devotion, and in 1856 Pope Pius IX extended the Feast of the Sacred Heart to the entire Catholic Church.

Today, Catholics continue this devotion through First Friday practices, Eucharistic adoration, and acts of reparation.

JUNE IN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH
Major Devotions, Feasts & Solemnities

“A month centered on the Eucharist, the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and some of the Church’s greatest saints.”

As May draws to a close with its special focus on the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Church enters June with her eyes fixed firmly on Jesus Christ.

Traditionally dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, June is one of the richest months in the Catholic calendar. It is filled with Eucharistic celebrations, beloved devotions, powerful solemnities, and saints whose lives continue to inspire Christians around the world.

For Catholics, June is not merely another page on the calendar. It is a spiritual journey that invites us to deepen our love for Christ, strengthen our devotion to the Eucharist, and grow in holiness through the witness of the saints.

Here are some of the major Catholic devotions, feasts, and solemnities of June 2026.

1. THE MONTH OF THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS
June 1-30
The entire month of June is traditionally dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

The Sacred Heart represents Christ’s infinite love, mercy, compassion, and sacrifice for humanity. Throughout this month, Catholics are encouraged to reflect on God’s love revealed in Christ and to respond with greater faith, prayer, and devotion.

Many Catholics observe:
* Eucharistic Adoration
* First Friday Devotions
* Acts of Reparation
* Consecration to the Sacred Heart
* and daily prayers to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

June reminds us that the Heart of Christ continues to burn with love for His people.

2. CORPUS CHRISTI NOVENA
May 29 - June 6, 2026
The Corpus Christi Novena prepares the faithful for the celebration of Corpus Christi and helps deepen appreciation for the gift of the Holy Eucharist.

During these nine days, Catholics meditate on:
* the Real Presence of Jesus
* the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass
* Eucharistic Adoration
* and the transforming power of Holy Communion

It is a beautiful opportunity to prepare our hearts for one of the Church’s most important Eucharistic celebrations.

3. SOLEMNITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI
June 7, 2026
(Sunday Observance in many dioceses)
Corpus Christi, meaning “Body of Christ,” celebrates Jesus truly present in the Eucharist; Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity.

This solemnity reminds Catholics that the Eucharist is not merely a symbol but Christ Himself, given for the life of the world.

Many parishes mark the occasion through:
* Eucharistic Processions
* Adoration
* Benediction
* and special parish celebrations

It remains one of the most profound celebrations of Catholic Eucharistic faith.

4. FEAST OF JESUS CHRIST, THE ETERNAL HIGH PRIEST
June 11, 2026
(Where Observed)
This feast honors Jesus as the eternal and perfect High Priest who continually intercedes for humanity before the Father.

It reminds Catholics that Christ remains the source of all priesthood and that every Catholic priest shares in His priestly ministry.

It is also a special day to pray for:
* priests
* seminarians
* vocations
* and holiness within the clergy

5. SOLEMNITY OF THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS
June 12, 2026
The Feast of the Sacred Heart is the spiritual high point of the month.

Rooted in Sacred Scripture and enriched by centuries of Catholic devotion, this solemnity highlights Christ’s immense love for humanity.

The Sacred Heart reminds believers that God’s love is:
* personal
* merciful
* sacrificial
* and always inviting us back to Him

It remains one of the most beloved celebrations in Catholic spirituality.

6. MEMORIAL OF THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY
June 20, 2026
Celebrated immediately after the Sacred Heart of Jesus, this memorial honors the loving and faithful heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The Church places these two celebrations side by side to remind believers of the unique union between Jesus and His Mother in God’s plan of salvation.

Mary’s heart points Catholics toward:
* obedience
* humility
* faithfulness
* and complete trust in God

7. SOLEMNITY OF THE NATIVITY OF SAINT JOHN THE BAPTIST
June 24, 2026
Saint John the Baptist occupies a unique place in salvation history.
He prepared the way for Christ and boldly called people to repentance.

The Church celebrates his birth because of his extraordinary mission as the Forerunner of the Messiah.

His words continue to challenge Christians today:
“He must increase; I must decrease.” (John 3:30)

John remains a powerful model of humility, courage, and faithful witness.

8. SOLEMNITY OF SAINTS PETER AND PAUL
June 29, 2026
This great solemnity honors two pillars of the early Church.

Saint Peter represents the apostolic foundation of the Church and the ministry entrusted to the successors of the Apostles.

Saint Paul represents missionary zeal and the call to bring the Gospel to all nations.

Though very different in personality and background, both gave their lives for Christ and helped shape the Church we know today.

Their feast reminds Catholics of the Church’s apostolic roots and universal mission.

IN SUMMARY: A MONTH OF THE EUCHARIST AND THE HEART OF CHRIST
June is one of the most spiritually rich months in the Catholic year.

Through Corpus Christi, the Sacred Heart, the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Saint John the Baptist, and Saints Peter and Paul, the Church invites believers to deepen their relationship with Christ and His Church.

At the center of all these celebrations stands one message:
Jesus Christ loves His people and continues to remain with them through the Eucharist, His Church, and the communion of saints.

As we journey through June, may every feast, devotion, and solemnity draw us closer to the Heart of Christ.

“The Sacred Heart of Jesus is the spiritual heartbeat of June.”

Which June celebration are you looking forward to most?

JUNE PRAYER
Sacred Heart of Jesus,
guide us through this new month.

Deepen our love for the Eucharist,
strengthen our faith,
bless our families,
protect Your Church,
and lead us closer to You each day.

May June be a month of grace,
peace, holiness, and spiritual growth.
