Paul didn’t just talk about finishing well—he lived it.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
The question isn’t whether the race is hard.
It’s whether we’ll still be running when the finish line comes into view.
What race are you still in today that needs fresh endurance?

The end of all things is near… so love each other deeply and open your homes without complaining (1 Peter 4:7-9).

In other words:
Time is short.
People are tired.
Grace is still free.
Let’s not wait for the “perfect” time to practice hospitality.
The time is now.

“The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers. Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬-‭9‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Paid hospitality says: “You paid, so you deserve this.”
Gospel hospitality says: “You didn’t pay, and you’re still welcome.”
One is business.
The other is blessing.
Peter reminds us that the second kind is what the church is called to practice—freely, cheerfully, without grumbling.
Because that’s exactly how God has treated us!

“Without grumbling.”
Those two words are doing a lot of work.
It’s easy to open the door when it’s convenient.
It’s harder when it’s costly, messy, or inconvenient.
Peter doesn’t lower the standard. He raises the heart.
True Christian hospitality isn’t measured by the quality of the meal—it’s measured by the absence of complaint.
Who needs a seat at your table this week?

“Show hospitality to one another without grumbling.”
