I was studying Isaiah 58 today and dwelt on Isaiah 58:6 for a while.
Isaiah 58:6 (KJV )
“Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?”
“Loose” (H6605 - pāṯaḥ) -to open, open oneself
“Undo” (H5425 - nāṯar) -to loosen, untie, unfasten, dissolve, release; This is not relief; it is dissolution. Not easing pressure, but untying the cords that cause the pressure.
“To Let” (H7971 - šālaḥ) - to let go, to dismiss, to emancipate
Was led to Luke 4:18-19 (KJV)
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.”
The preached Word of God through an anointed Preacher:
1. opens prison doors
2. opens blind eyes
3. opens access to God
Wickedness doesn’t just bind, it closes, locks, restricts access, and traps souls physically, spiritually, and mentally. So this “loosing” is not a gentle relief meant to last mere moments.
The words used denote its an authorative opening that humans or anything else created could not do alone.
You don’t “pāṯaḥ”something you don’t have authority over. The preacher UNDER the anointing is connected to th AUTHORITY of all things…
Think about this: Kings open gates, Judges open cases, God opens wombs, heavens, prisons, any ANY gate constraining his creation from reaching him.
True anointed preaching aligned to the Will of God, uses divine authority to open what evil has shut.
