Anxiety has a way of convincing us that we have to carry everything on our own.

This past Sunday in our Essentials series, Scott reminded us that God never intended for us to bear those burdens by ourselves. Instead of letting anxiety consume us, we’re invited to bring our worries, fears, and uncertainties to Him.

What are you carrying today that you need to place in God’s hands?

Wednesday nights are going to be special this summer as we lead up to our big 125 year celebration of Johnson Street in October! 🎉

Each week we'll be worshiping with songs from a different decade or two to help us connect to our rich history of faith - last night's songs were all written before the year 1800! 🤯 We also launched our first God Sightings story, where Monte shared from the heart about a powerful life event in which he clearly saw God at work in a life-or-death situation. His story was a beautiful reminder that God is still moving, still working, and still present in our lives today.

Thank you, Monte, for your vulnerability and willingness to share your story with us.

If you missed it, we’d love for you to join us next week as we continue celebrating God’s faithfulness and hearing more stories of His work in our lives.

What if the person slowing you down isn’t an interruption… but an opportunity?

One of the most challenging thoughts from Sunday’s message was this: If we only see people as obstacles to get past, we’re not seeing them the way God does.

Every person you encounter—the difficult coworker, the slow driver, the stranger in line, the neighbor next door—is someone made in the image of God and deeply loved by Him.

Loving your neighbor isn’t just about the people who are easy to love. It’s about learning to see people as children of God instead of inconveniences in our day.

Watch this clip from Scott’s message and ask yourself: How would my life change if I truly saw people the way Jesus sees them?

Tonight we celebrated an incredible week with Ice Cream Night, singing all the songs we’ve learned, and making memories together as a church family.

From Bible lessons and crafts to games, worship, and laughter, it’s been amazing to watch kids grow in their faith and excitement for Jesus this week.

Check out this recap video of everything that’s happened so far—we’re thankful for every child, volunteer, parent, and guest who has been part of it!

Grace is beautiful… but if we’re honest, it can also feel a little scary.

Because real grace doesn’t just make room for people like us — it makes room for anybody. The broken. The messy. The outsider. The one we’d least expect.

That’s the kind of grace Jesus showed.
And it’s the kind of grace we’re called to live out.

This past Sunday’s message challenged us to rethink just how wide the grace of God really is. Watch this recap — then head over to our YouTube channel to catch the full sermon. 🙌

What a special Sunday at Johnson Street Church as we celebrated the baby dedication of the Goen family! ❤️

Moments like these remind us how beautiful it is to raise children surrounded by faith, family, and a church community that loves and supports them. We’re honored to walk alongside the Goen family as they dedicate their little one to the Lord and commit to leading him in His ways.

Church family — thank you for continuing to be a place where generations grow together. 🙌
