We all face seasons when life does not make sense—when suffering comes without explanation, prayers feel unanswered, the future feels unclear, or we wonder whether hope can still be real.

Beginning Sunday, September 13, join us for a new four-week sermon series:

WHEN LIFE DOESN’T MAKE SENSE... Finding God’s Presence, Guidance, and Hope in Life’s Hard Questions

Together, we will bring our honest questions to God and discover that faith is not about having every answer. It is about trusting that God is with us, God is still at work, and God’s love has the final word.

September 13 — Where Is God When It Hurts?
Why do innocent people suffer? We will explore how God meets us in pain and how the church can become a compassionate presence for those who are hurting.

September 20 — When Prayer Feels Unanswered
What do we do when we pray for healing, help, peace, or change—and the answer we hoped for does not come? We will discover how prayer sustains us, forms us, and reminds us that unanswered prayer is not proof of an absent God.

September 27 — Taking the Next Faithful Step
How do we know God’s will for our lives? We will consider how God guides us not through a hidden blueprint, but through love, wisdom, community, and the courage to take the next faithful step.

October 4 — Love Has the Final Word
We will conclude with the good news of resurrection: suffering, sin, evil, and death are real, but they do not have the final word. In Jesus Christ, God’s love, grace, and new life do.

Bring your questions. Bring your doubts. Bring the things you are carrying.

There is room for all of it here.

The church is truly a sanctuary—a place where God’s love is shared, people are welcomed, and lives are blessed.

This morning, during our weekly food distribution, a man arrived on a bicycle to pick up food for four families. Before carefully loading everything onto his bike, he stopped and prayed over the food. It was a simple but powerful reminder of the difference that compassion, generosity, and faith can make.

Tonight, our campus is full of life. In TJ’s office, a couple is making final plans for their upcoming wedding. In the fellowship hall, Growing Garden Cities is holding a board meeting. In the music room, joyful music is filling the air as our handbell choir prepares for fall worship. Across the street, children and families are arriving for gymnastics lessons in the building we are blessed to provide for the community.

What a gift it is to see our church building used throughout the week as a place of prayer, service, fellowship, learning, music, celebration, and family.

If you are looking for a church that takes seriously the call to be the hands and feet of Jesus, we would love for you to join us for worship this Sunday at 11:00 a.m.

As we continue living into our new name, Grace Christian, we are excited to give our church bus a fresh new look!

Our bus serves our community Monday through Friday by picking up children from local schools and transporting them to the Boys & Girls Club—completely free of charge. It is one practical way we seek to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community.

If you would like to help fund the new bus branding above and beyond your regular giving, please let Debbie in the church office know.

In the comments, tell us: What is one of your favorite ministries of Grace Christian?

**“Just so you know, it’s all real.”**

Those were some of the first words shared with one of our staff members after their first Sunday at Grace Christian, and we think they say a lot about who we strive to be.

We are a church made up of people with different backgrounds, beliefs, politics, theologies, stories, and struggles. Yet, we gather around a shared confession that Jesus is the Christ and seek to authentically love one another.

We worship together. We serve together. We build ramps, stock pantry shelves, welcome our community into our building, invest in children and youth, support college students, and try our best to extend our table far beyond the walls of the church.

At the heart of Grace Christian is a hope to be the heart of San Angelo. A place where you can show up as yourself, ask hard questions, find community, be challenged, experience healing, and know that you are loved.

So, if you’ve been looking for a church, come give us a chance.

Come as you are. There’s a place for you here.

**Ending Summer Together!**

On Monday, August 17, we celebrated the end of summer with our annual pool party! We ate plenty of pizza, spent lots of time in the pool, and most importantly, simply enjoyed being together in community.

We’re grateful for a church family where kids, youth, adults, and families can gather, have fun, and build relationships with one another. What a great way to wrap up the summer and look ahead to all that’s coming this fall!

It’s been a true team effort, and we are excited to share that some of the original stained-glass windows from our first church building have been restored and are now beautifully displayed once again in our church!

These pieces of our history had been in storage for about six years, but they have now been brought back to life. We are grateful to everyone who helped make this restoration possible.

Did you know that Grace Christian Church is the second-oldest church in San Angelo? Our story began in 1882, when a small group of people gathered near the Concho River for worship.

A lot has changed over the years—including our church name. Yet one thing has remained the same: our faithfulness to God and our shared purpose of reflecting and sharing God’s love in this community.

We give thanks for the saints who came before us, for the beauty of this part of our history, and for the ministry God continues to call us toward today.

Join us for worship today at 11:00 a.m. as we conclude our Finding God in All Things series!

Over these past weeks, we have been learning to slow down, pay attention, and notice God’s presence in the ordinary moments of our lives. Today, we will celebrate the ways God meets us where we are—and how God continues to bring new life in every season.

We are also excited to share our new short book, Finding God in All Things. It brings together the themes, stories, and reflections from this series and is designed to help you continue noticing God throughout the week.

You can download a PDF, download a Kindle version, or request a physical copy through the link below.

Join us in person today at 11:00 a.m., and explore the book here:

This summer, our church journeyed through a sermon series called Finding God in All Things—an invitation to slow down, pay attention, and recognize the ways God is present in ordinary life.
