The seminarians for the Diocese of San Angelo are settling into the new year: enjoying one another’s company, encountering the beauty of nature, and even practicing Mass!

Most importantly, our men are spending time at the feet of Jesus, learning how to become better men and, God willing, future priests.

Please keep our seminarians in your prayers as they continue to discern God’s will for their lives. Pray also for more men to respond courageously and generously to God’s call.

We are excited to announce that the new 2026–2027 vocation poster for the Diocese of San Angelo will soon be delivered to our parishes, schools, and apostolates! A preview of the poster is included below.

We are also happy to announce that we will be printing and shipping to our parishes 5 x 7 seminarian prayer cards featuring our seminarians’ photos, vocation office information, and a prayer written by our own Bishop Sis. It is our hope that parishioners and families will take these cards home and use them to pray with their children for our seminarians and for vocations to the priesthood.

Please keep these men in your prayers, and please pray that God will call more men from our communities to respond generously to His invitation to discern the priesthood.

This summer, the Vocation Office hosted its annual Discernment Retreat at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Community in Abilene!

Seventeen men from across the Diocese gathered for a time of prayer, fraternity, and discernment as they sought to listen more closely to where God may be calling them. Throughout the retreat, they had the opportunity to learn more about the priesthood, spend time with our diocesan priests and seminarians, and grow in their relationship with Christ.

We are grateful to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Community for welcoming us and to everyone who helped make this retreat possible.

Please keep these 17 men, and all those discerning a vocation to the priesthood and religious life, in your prayers. May the Lord give them the courage and generosity to follow wherever He calls!

Project Andrew has been reimagined!

This fall, the Diocese of San Angelo is bringing Project Andrew to communities across West Texas through a new regional model, making it easier than ever for young men to begin discerning God's call.

If you're a young man ages 14–18 who has ever wondered about the priesthood, we'd love to invite you to an evening of dinner, prayer, and conversation with the priests of our diocese.
Each dinner offers the same program, so simply choose the location that's most convenient for you—everyone in the Diocese of San Angelo is welcome, regardless of your home parish.
