Originally born from a band of ten faithful members at Ross Chapel on Avenue Y, the New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ was organized.... Since the organization of New Jerusalem, there have been three devoted shepherds: Pastor C.S. Anderson, (1975-2005);
Elder Anthony Harris; (2005-Present). Pastor Harris responded to his leader and the call of God in April, 2004 beginning as interim pastor,

he officially took the reigns in 2005 - "In Pursuit of God's Glory" ( Haggai 2:7-9 )
