In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:6

There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Hebrews 4:9-10

If the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct. Ecclesiastes 10:10
On this journey we must remain sharp because we know that the enemy is raging and if we allow our sword to become dull we grow weary trying to overcome. We must pray, seek, and study to grow closer to Jesus and when we grow closer to him it becomes easier to rely on his strength. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15

“As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all.” Ecclesiastes 11:5
We don’t have to understand the process just trust the processor and know that he works all things for the good of those that love him and are called according to his purpose.

"Better is a handful with quietness, than both hands full with travail and vexation of spirit." Ecclesiastes 4:6

I would rather have but just a handful and know that I have peace in Jesus Christ than to have both hands full of the world's riches and be filled with the burdens and pains that come with them.

Train the Child Part 4: The Tablet of the Covenant

A covenant is an agreement between two parties and the promises of God are wrapped in a covenant which must be followed without any negotiations.

We now live in the new covenant and it is our obligation to our children to ensure that they know and understand the foundation or the dispensation in which we live. Jesus is the chief cornerstone of this covenant and the word tells us that if we try to go any other way we are the same as a thief and a robber (John 10:1).

So how do we enter in to this new covenant? In the old covenant circumcision was required, the blood of animal sacrifice was required. Many would say you don't have to do anything; well that's not true because that teach slothful salvation and the word tells us that we are to do works meet for repentance (Acts 26:20) it also tells us to be doers of the word and not hearers only (James 1:22).

On the day of Pentecost Peter laid the foundation for this new covenant "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of JESUS CHRIST for the REMISSION of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost" this is the foundation of the new covenant without obedience to this commandment we can have no part of this covenant, we would be the same as those in the old testament who brought and unworthy sacrifice.

Teach them the way to salvation laid out by the apostles through the spirit of Jesus Christ.

Train the Child Part 3: The Rod
The Ark of the Covenant contained the rod of Aaron. In the book of Numbers God told Moses to have all the princes of the twelve tribes to place a rod in the tabernacle and whichever rod bloomed would be the chosen tribe for priesthood (Numbers 17:1-10).

I believe that one reason so many children are confused and why that su***de among adolescence is so high is because we fail to fill them with the understanding of who they are in Jesus. 1 Peter 2:9 says "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light". Most understand that the goal when you begin this journey in Jesus is to make it to Heaven; but, the journey is just as important and without instruction the journey becomes unfathomable and we quit.

It is our duty as parents to instill in our children who they are in Jesus, they are a chosen vessel, a royal priesthood, and yes they are different because the power that lives in them is not of this world nor can the flesh comprehend it.

If you don't know who you are and the purpose for the journey then the destination will seem unattainable and it seems easier to go back to the confusing calm of carnality. I talked with a person once and they told me that they questioned whether or not that was redeemed but they never questioned whether or not they were a sinner, this is the scenario that plays in your children's mind but if you and I fill our children with the knowledge that they are chosen by Jesus and that they have a purpose then although the road is rough, the road is established.

1 Peter 2:4 "to whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but CHOSEN OF GOD, and PRECIOUS"

Train the Child; Part 2: The Manna
It's not what we give our children that matters but it is what we put in them that makes the difference. Like the Ark of the Covenant if we have the things living within us then we have power that is able to overcome the things of this world.

In the Ark of the Covenant Moses commanded Aaron to gather some manna that God had given the children of Israel in the wilderness for a testimony (Exodus 16:32 And Moses said, This is the thing which the Lord commandeth, Fill an omer of it to be kept for your generations; that they may see the bread wherewith I have fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you forth from the land of Egypt)

We must teach our children to take up that bread of life that sustains us and leads us out of the wilderness and out of the place of our bo***ge. Jesus said in John 6:32-33 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.
For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

Jesus is that bread from heaven that sustains us and the only way we get that living manna is through his name; being baptized and receiving the gift of the holy ghost which all must come through the name of Jesus.

Starting today we are going to launch a 4 part series entitled "Train the Child".
Train the Child part 1
In the book of 1 Samuel chapter 5 verses 1 through 5 the Philistines had capture the Ark of the Covenant and placed in their temple with their idol god Dagon. When they came in the first morning they found this idol face down and they set it back up. The next morning they came in to find that the head of Dagon and the hands of Dagon were cut off.
We are living in a time where that our children are exposed to so much ungodliness that it does make a parent fearful in the flesh, to the point that we would like to put them in a bubble and shelter them. I cant find in the word where that the lord instructs me to do this; however, I have found in Proverbs 22:6 "TRAIN UP THE CHILD in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it". Dads listen up this one is for you; Ephesian 6:4 "Ye FATHERS, provoke not your children to wrath: BUT BRING THEM UP in the nurture and admonition of the Lord."
Like the Ark of the Covenant our children will be in rooms with ungodly people and ungodly things; but, if you and I train them up and allow God to make them an Ark, the ungodliness will fall in the presence.
Part 2 through 4 we will talk about what must be instilled inside that gives the power to the Ark.
