We know a lot of past staff members enjoy coming to the fireside devotionals throughout the summer, so we wanted to make sure to let you know that the schedule has changed a little and these devotionals are now on Wednesday nights instead of Thursdays. This allows the units to have testimony meetings together for their final night of camp.

If you are coming up to join us for a fireside, please be sure to check in with a council member to get a name tag. This helps us keep track of who all is in camp. 😊

Brighton Girls Camp is in need of some 12” Dutch ovens! We have been using 8-10” ones for the last several decades, and they are just a little too small to feed the campers sufficiently. We will still use them for desserts, but we are hoping to get 12” ones for our main dishes when we do cookouts.

If you happen to have one just lying around that you aren’t using, we would love to take it off your hands! It will be put to great use this summer and for many summers to come. We will even pick it up and clean/season it so you don’t need to worry about it!

If you have one you are willing to donate, send us a message and we will figure out a time to pick it up!

Help us spread the word!

We are so excited to open camp the last two weeks of the summer for Mountaineers - those girls born in 2008!

Ideally, we need 20 girls per week to run a successful Mountaineer program. Help us spread the word to any young woman born in 2008 who may be interested!

Much of the mountaineer week time will be with spent with the rest of the campers. However, these units will be introduced to more challenging hikes and lifelines, a deeper dive into gospel principles and a few behind the scenes at Brighton Girls Camp for those who may be interested in returning in the future as staff.

The $195 fee includes transportation, food, lodging, camp counselor, all activities, T-shirt and 2 crafts.

If these campers would like to attend both weeks, the fee will be $350.

Here are the dates for the two Mountaineer Weeks:
July 31st - August 4th and/or
August 7th - August 11th

Hello Brighton Friends!

Brighton Girls Camp is looking for a Senior Missionary Couple that would like to spend the next two summers in the beautiful Mountains of Brighton.

Below is a list of qualifications and tasks:

⭐️Qualifications:
Married Senior Couple to live at Brighton (cabin provided) during summer months of 2023 and 2024. They should have strong testimonies, be ambitious, handy with tools, hardworking, able to hike and love being with the youth.

⭐️Tasks:
Work closely with the Directorship and Presidency overseeing the camp facilities. Assist staff as needed at camp. Work to keep a safe and beautiful camp, cleaning, maintaining equipment, developing testimonies of faith in those they serve, in addition to Priesthood responsibilities.

We are now accepting staff applications for Brighton 2023! If you are interested, or if you know an exceptional Latter-day Saint young woman 16 years or older who may be interested in spending a summer in the mountains teaching and leading young girls, head to our website for the application and job descriptions. We are looking for Camp Counselors, First Aid Specialists, Craft Counselors and Kitchen Crew. These are paid positions that come with the opportunity to make life-long friendships and be immersed in the Spirit of Christ. Speaking from years of experience, this is a wonderful, life-changing experience! Applications are due February 18th!

Laurie Faux Decker (Stretch) passed away early in the morning of December 23rd, 2022 from cancer. She was the director at Brighton Camp in 1988, 1989 and 1990. Her funeral is scheduled for Thursday Dec 29th at 11 am (location TBA). Her obituary will be posted tomorrow on the Anderson Mortuary website and will be added in the comments on this post.
