Don't miss the Rose Park Stake Youth Standards Night, featuring Michael & Darcy Kennedy, on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at 7:00 pm in the West Chapel of the Rose Park Stake Center. All Youth Leaders, Young Women, Young Men and their Parents are invited to join us for this special night.
Brother Kennedy is a direct descendant of Joseph and Emma Smith and is the first of their descendents to hold the Melchizedek Priesthood and be temple endowed. He is the President of the Joseph Smith Jr. Family Organization and of the Joseph Smith Jr. and Emma Hale Smith Historical Society. In addition, he was an Executive Producer for several movies including The Times and Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, Emma Smith, My Story, Children of Joseph and Discovering Emma. He also serves as a board member for the Nauvoo University and is a graduate of BYU.
Sister Kennedy was born and raised in Nevada. The missionaries found her at the age of 16 and she was the only member of her family to join the church at that time. She has been secretary and personal assistant to the Joseph Smith Jr. Family Organization since 1985 and now serves in that capacity for the Historical Society as well. She co-authored the book The Emma Smith We Know.

PREPARE YOURSELVES FOR THE 2011 RP STAKE EPIC OPUS!
Wednesday, December 28 @ 7:00 p.m.
Rose Park Stake Large Hall Theater

Here’s your chance to show us what you’re made of!
Do you write, act, sing, play a musical instrument, dance, design, build or direct?
Wow us with your collective skills.

The youth from each ward need to create one original skit, which they will perform, using the following guidelines:
- Must contain one musical number. Song choice (e.g. Broadway tune, Disney song) must be approved by your Bishop.
- Must incorporate some form of dancing or choreography in the skit, no matter how simple. Just make it fun!
- Must use creative costuming and props. Keep it simple—nothing too elaborate or time intensive.
- When writing and designing your skit, think of a well prepared camp skit rather than a complex musical production.
- Your skit can be no longer than six minutes.

ALSO:
Individual youth are invited to create a one minute Mormon Ad for our first ever Epic Opus Film Festival. Entrants must write, film, direct and edit their own Mormon Ad. All entries are due December 18 and must be submitted to Brad Rogers for inclusion in the Festival. The original Mormon Ads will be shown between skits on the night of the Opus. So get out and start filming!

Family members of YM/YW are invited to attend the Opus!
Treats will be provided by the stake.

experiences in South Africa when Brother Brock was the Mission President
of the Durban South Africa Mission.

City Creek District 4 will be at Heber Valley Camp again for the 2012 Klondike, so reserve your cabin early. The cost is $10 per person and includes dinner and breakfast! The dates are January 13-14, 2012. They ask that troops bring their own lunch. However, no food of any kind is allowed in the cabins. Therefore, leave your food in the pavilion inside our storage area for safe keeping (please mark it clearly for your troop). Remember we are limited to 16 people per cabin, so the smaller troops may be sharing a cabin. We only have space for 320 people. Please register early to ensure you get the cabin you want, and don't forget your sleds!

What a great camp! From the train ride to dinner (thank you Brother Terry and Brother Mayberry) to the campfire to the games and the relay, it was great to see you all in action.
