A Requim Mass will be offered for the repose of the soul of Reverend Monsignor Joseph Terrence Fitzgerald on Friday, February 27, 2026 at 6:30 p.m.

Friday Stations of the cross will precede Mass at 6:00 p.m.

Monsignor Fitzgerald served as Pastor of Saint Patrick Parish from 1975-1982. He was instrumental in forming many parts of our parish during his time as pastor and until now. This includes the Tongan Community, African Community and the original Saint Joseph Center. Also, without his help, our new Saint Joseph Center would not have become a reality. He once shared that Saint Patrick Parish was the home parish of his grandparents and very meaningful to him. May you be rewarded in the kingdom of God for your humble and faithful service.

The funeral Mass for Msgr. J. Terrence Fitzgerald, who died Jan. 14, will be Tuesday, Jan. 20, at 11 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City. Burial to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen
